On Tuesday morning Harry woke early, showered and dressed nicely for his trip with Voldemort to Newquay. Albus had not mentioned the trip at all since Harry had told him of it.

“Today is the day,” Harry said putting away his toothbrush and wiping his mouth with a towel. Albus was silent in putting on his shoes. Harry knew that Albus heard him. “I said today…”

“I heard you,” Albus said quietly finishing with his shoes. Harry felt the emotion.

“Don’t worry about me,” Harry said sitting to face him. “I’ll be fine. You know that.”

“I will always worry about you,” Albus said. “I’ve done it for years. I am used to it by now.”

“Please don’t,” Harry said softly. “When you worry I feel it. It hurts me.”

“Harry, how can I not worry about my child going so far away with one who wants to kill him? How can you ask me not to do that?” Albus asked.

“How can you ask me not to cry at your passing? But I promised you that I would. At least I will return to you today,” Harry said. Albus realized.

“Forgive me,” Albus said. “I’ll do my best to not worry about you today while you are here,” Albus said wisely. Harry caught the slip.

“Not only while I am here. When I’m not here is when you’ll worry most. That’s the worst time. I want you not to worry at all because there is no need,” Harry said directly. “The stress weakens you and we both know it. So stop. For me.”

“I will try my best. That’s all I can promise,” Albus said as they stood. Harry took the morning hug.

“I love you,” Harry said as every morning.

“I love you, Harry. I love you so much,” Albus squeezed him hard before letting go.

“I’ll be fine,” Harry said. “I’m going to see the ocean today for the first time.” Harry beamed.

“I know you will enjoy it,” Albus said.

“And I’ll share it with you when I get back. I promise,” Harry smiled and picked up his book bag. “My DADA class this morning is the best. These are the third years. I have one kid that can already cast a level six.”

“Impressive,” Albus said. “Do you wish to teach full time next year?”

“No idea,” Harry said. “I like teaching DADA. It’s been my life for years. But Draco and I plan to travel and see the world. I want to see Rome…and Paris. Maybe Spain, or Japan….and Moscow all before I die.”

“You have years to think of that,” Albus said as they exited their quarters. Albus watched Harry read over his teaching notes for the day. “I am so proud of you, Harry. It pleases me that you are a teacher at so young an age.”
