It was a beautiful Sunday. Up until you were dragged out of your house by your brother because you needed 'fresh air'. You were now at the park, unwillingly practicing volleyball with your brother.
"Are we done yet?!" you whined as your arms were red from receiving so much.
"Come on, (Y/n). Just a few more hours" Daichi pleaded.
'Hours?! Is he trying to kill me?!' you thought wildly.
"I'll buy you the new volume of (favorite manga)" he bribed.
You sighed and got back in receiving position. A free book was too good of an opportunity to just pass up. A free anything was too good to pass up.
Daichi was currently practicing his serves, which were scary to receive. He's always said his serves were normal compared to the other teams he's played, but you never believed him.
He did a standing serve, and the ball came flying at you. Because Daichi had forced you to practice with him since he was in sixth grade, you were decent at volleyball. You received it well enough for him to set it, but he hit it instead.
The ball went straight down in front of you, but too far forward for you to receive it while standing. Groaning, you dived with one arm in receiving position while you used the other keep yourself from falling completely. The ball fell right next to your arm, and you stared at it with disappointment.
After a moment, you stood up and dusted yourself off. You gasped at the grass stains left on your (fav color) pants.
"Oops. Maybe we should stop now, heh" Daichi awkwardly said as he lightly scratched his cheek.
You growled and glared at him.
"That's what I've been saying!" you yelled at him.
You charged and tried to attack the third year, but he held you back by extending his hand and holding your head.
"Calm down. I promised you (fav manga), so let's go now before it gets too dark" he stated.
You immediately stopped and followed him to the book shop. You grabbed the new volume along with some other books. After an argument about 'grabbing too many books', Daichi reluctantly payed and the two of you left. You hugged him and snuggled into his side.
"Thanks, Dai" you chirped.
He rolled his eyes and mumbled a "whatever".
*Time skip to the next morning*
You groaned and covered your head with your pillow to try and drown out the noise of your annoying alarm clock. When you heard it stop, you smiled and removed your pillow, grateful to get more sleep.
However, life hates you and wants you to suffer. You felt your blanket being pulled off you and a bright light entered your room.
"Get up! School starts today!" you heard your brother yell.
You groaned in response and he left. The sound of the door closing brought you out of bed. You went over to you closet and picked out your uniform.
'Do I really have to wear this?' You mentally complained.
You decided to wear black leggings under the skirt you thought to be too short. After smoothing out whatever folds there were, you brushed your hair and went downstairs to eat breakfast.
"So, this is your first day as a high schooler. How do you feel?" Daichi asked as he placed two plates of eggs in front of you.
"Not excited to share a school with you. Again" you grumbled.
You grabbed a plate and dug into your breakfast. Your older brother did the same.
"Then maybe you should've applied to Shiratorizawa" he taunted.
After hearing that you applied to Karasuno, your eighth grade teacher contacted you and tried to convince to get into a better school like Shiratorizawa. They kept pushing until you blocked them on everything.
"Ew, I don't know anyone there" you said, disgusted at the thought of meeting new people.
Daichi chuckled and grabbed the now empty plates. He got up and placed them in sink while you ran upstairs to brush your teeth. Once you were both ready, you set off to Karasuno High School.
Upon arriving there, you and Daichi split up to go to your assigned classrooms. You constantly glanced at your paper while you wandered around, trying to find the first year hallway.
Luckily, you found it. However, it was crowded with lost teenagers. You inwardly screamed as you tried to push your way to your class.
"Class 1-4. Class 1-4" you mumbled to yourself.
Your face lit up when you found the classroom and rushed inside. You let out a sigh of relief when you saw that only two other people were there. You found a seat at the back of the room and slumped down.
Since there was still time before school started, you pulled out one of your new books from yesterday amd began reading.
When the bell rang, you placed your book back into your bag. You looked up and saw your teacher walking in. Placing your elbow on the desk in front of you, you rested your face in the palm of your hand and watched the teacher tiredly.
School passed by boringly, then the lunch bell rang. Shoving all your homework in your bag, yoh slung it over your shoulder and raced out the doors. You were set on finding and eating lunch with your brother.
You finally found him in the courtyard eating with his volleyball friend, Sugawara. You raced up to Daichi and jumped onto his back. He stumbled forward a bit in surprise, but soon balanced himself. He turned his head around.
"(Y/n)?!" he exclaimed.
You jumped off and waved to the other boy. You knew him pretty well since him and Asahi been going to your house for volleyball since their fisrt year.
"Ah, (Y/n)-chan! How's your first day of high school so far?" Suga asked with a smile.
"Eh, boring. This school is so huge, though. I got lost too many times!" you answered.
The third years laughed and continued eating their lunch. Then, you heard a loud voice yelling your name. You turned around and were met with the crazy second year, Tanaka.
"(Y/n)-channn!"
"Ah!" You let out a surprised scream.
Tanaka came at an inhuman speed. You dogded him by hiding behind Daichi. You heard the thud of Tanaka hitting the ground, then someone slapping the back of his head.
"Quit that! You're scaring her!" Suga scolded.
"Hehe. Sorry" Tanaka apologized.
"I-It's ok, Tanaka-senpai" you stuttered with a bow.
Tanaka clutched his heart and his pupils turned into heart-eyes.
"She...she called me 'senpai'...."
The bell rang, indicating the end of lunch, and the four of you separated. You remained quiet the rest of the day, then met up with your brother to walk home. And that was how your year started.
