After school, you walked with Yamaguchi and Tsukishima to the gym.

"Yama-kun, do you want to come over sometime so I can help with your homework?" you asked.

"Uh, sure, but...w-will it bother y-your brother?" he stuttered.

Though he had never been personally yelled at, Daichi still scared the living crap out of Yamaguchi. He was on Daichi's good side, and he didn't want to ruin that.

"Probably, but what is he gonna do about it? Kick you off the team?" you remarked.

Yamguchi froze and shivered at the thought of Daichi physically throwing him out of the gym. Tsukishima noticed this and stopped beside him. He sighed.

"He can't kick you off the team. He doesn't have the authority to" Tsukishima spoke.

'Not like I'd let that happen, anyways'  he thought to himself.

You nodded in agreement to Tsukishima's statement, and the three of you began walking again.

"Since Dai's not the coach, he has no right to professionally remove you from the team" you started "But he can make your life a living hell with him being captain and all" you added nonchalantly.

Yamaguchi gulped as he remembered the third year making Kageyama run 75 laps for accidentally hitting you in the face.

When you got to the gym, the pair of males ran off to change while you helped the team set up. As you pushed the trolley of volleyballs with Kiyoko, the two of you talked about school and the team.

"So, (Y/n)-chan, I've been meaning to ask: Will you be a manager of the boys volleyball team?" Kiyoko asked.

You stopped in your tracks.

"Wh-What? Me?! I can't control these crackheads, Kiyoko-senpai!" you exclaimed.

She chuckled and you two resumed walking.

"Well, I've been thinking. It's my last year here, and I haven't found anyone to take my place as manager yet" she explained.

"And you already have knowledge and experience with volleyball as well as strong connections with most of the team members" she continued.

You nodded. Her reasoning made sense, but the fact that she would be leaving you to handle the team all alone next year scared you. Kiyoko noticed and made a compromise.

"You won't be alone next year. Takeda-sensei will still be here and I heard he's looking for a coach right now. But if you still feel uneasy in the future years, I can help you look for an assistant"

You nodded vigorously, causing her to giggle at your anticipation to find some help. It surprised her since you usually didn't like meeting new people.

"So does that mean you'll become our new manager?" she asked.

"Sure!"

You began talking about other things while you finished setting up the gym.

Towards the end of practice, the gym doors swung open and revealed a breathless Takeda. He stumbled into the gym waving around a piece of paper. Pushing up his glasses, he announced:

"We have a practice match!"

Everyone stopped what they were doing and surrounded the teacher.

"It took some convincing, but I managed to schedule a practice match against Aoba Johsai-"

"You didn't beg again, did you?" Daichi interrupted.

"What?! No! Anyways, they'll only agree on one condition...." Takeda said.

Everyone leaned in closer, curious of what Seijoh could possibly want.

"Kageyama has to play as the setter for the entire game"

Silence struck the court, and you looked to Suga with empathy. It must suck to be replaced by a first year.

After that announcement, you helped everyone clean up and waited by the gym doors as usual. You saw Suga pass by you and gripped onto his shirt.

"Uh-Suga-senpai, wait" you called out.

He stopped and turned to you with a smile.

"Ah, (Y/n)-chan! I heard you're our new manager" he said.

"Yeah, I guess....but that's not why I stopped you. I-I just wanted to ask if....if you were ok?"

He nodded.

"If you think I'll let one practice match get to me just because I'm not in the starting line up, sorry but you're wrong. Kageyama-san needs this practice anyway" he said.

You nodded and let him. Shortly after, Daichi came up and you went home.

*Time skip to the practice match*

"Are you nervous?" you asked.

"I'm not even playing, but I still feel all these jittery feelings" Yamaguchi explained.

You were currently walking with him and Tsukishima to the bus. He looked a little sick, which worried you.

"What about you Tsukishima-san?" you asked.

After a moment of silence, he answered.

"I don't care" he said before walking off.

"Whatever, you salty dinosaur" you grumbled, earning a nervous chuckle from Yamaguchi.

As you and the rest of the team gathered around the bus, you saw a very sick-looking Hinata. Your 'motherly instincts'(as Daichi called it) kicked in and you walked over to him. Placing the back of your palm on his forehead, you checked his temperature.

"Ah! (Y-Y/n)-chan?! Wh-What are you doing?!" he yelled.

Pulling your hand away, you looked at him with a worried expression.

"Are you feeling alright? You feel really hot and you don't look too good, either" you questioned.

Other teammates held in their snickers and Hinata looked down dejectedly.

"That was kind of harsh" he mumbled.

You tilted your head in confusion.

'Why's he upset? I just wanna make sure he's ok'  you asked yourself.

"I-I just wanna make sure you're ok, Hinata-san. You're a vital player, and with Kageyama playing as setter, you guys can do that crazy quick attack" you explained.

After hearing your concerns, Hinata turned a bright red turned his head away from you.

"I-I-I'm fine, (Y/n)-chan! I swear!" he yelled.

Still unsure, you nodded and sat next to Kiyoko. During the ride there, she explained all you needed to do as a manager. Then the bus stopped after hearing Tanaka yell and freak out.

After asking around, you found out that Hinata was in fact, not ok. He threw up all over Tanaka's pants, forcing Tanaka to change into shorts. Hinata, being Hinata, constantly bowed and apologized. You wouldn't be surprised if he got whiplash from bowing that much.

It was a little calmer the rest of the way to Aoba Johsai.
