>Every Song Has A Hidden Meaning:

They're not merely there for ambiance, though that's definitely one aspect of it. Each song will contain Oliver's energy and/or matching lyrics, Ian's, or a blend of the two. I trust you'll be able to sense it in each case! These songs not only tell something the character may be feeling and can't express at the moment, but they could also refer to something they felt in the past or will be feeling in the future.

I strongly suggest looking into each of the lyrics once the chapter is over to fully understand the nature of the characters and their bond. You'll find links for both Youtube and Spotify in a commentary bubble right next to them. If you're on your phone and can't access the links, just take a moment to access this playlist!

When the text is too long, play the song on repeat until another song comes along!

>The Images Are Pages From Oliver's Notebook:

They've been either drawn by Oliver the same day depicted in the chapter, or as a result of it. You'll find a hidden meaning in a few of these, too.

>The Structure Is A Bit Different Than You May Be Used To:

As this book is written in first person, the use of language, structuring of sentences, and such will not conform to a traditional literary style when it's Oliver that's speaking— this is purely intentional. Every word has been crafted to fit within the limitations of the character's abilities, experience, and self-awareness.

Don't take me wrong, I tremendously enjoy writing in other styles when the works call for it. Nonetheless, a writer's job is not to use the biggest or prettiest words, but rather the right ones.

>Lastly, don't forget to stop by Actors & Aesthetics at the bottom of the chapter list if that's something you're interested in.
