Chapter 45: Freedom is hard to get

Y/N POV

"Then go and get your stuff then." With that he left the room leaving me and Ghostbur. You chuckle. He never changed, which is a good thing. You pick up the crystal. it was a little heavier than before.

"Hey Ghostbur, can you help me with this?" You ask.

"Of course." He said and lifted the crystal a little bit making it a little bit lighter. You frowned. It was a lot lighter before...how come its heavier now? Oh. That's right. I've lost my powers. Maybe...maybe it weakened me a bit.

You set it down snow. Fuck, it's freezing out here. They could've given me a hoodie rather than a blouse. You dust of the snow that was on your shoulders. 

"Were are you two going Y/n? Can I come?" Ghostbur asked as his voice echoed. You thought for a sec. He can come along-I mean, he can float so it wouldn't be that hard, but friend, I shot the sheep a glance. 

"What about Friend? Were going to uh-fly there and-"

"Oh. So Friend can't come?" He said looking at his pet sheep.

"How about I give you something to do?" I suggest trying to not make the sweet ghost sad. His eyes perk up "Oooh, what is it?" He chirped.

"How about you uh-" I look around "How about you go and help Phil collect things for the pots? I think he needs help cause Techno is rather uh-busy..."

"Hmm...Okay!" He agreed. "Tell him I sent you alright?" You said.

"Okay, bye N/n." You raised at the brow at the nickname. How did he know that?

"Y/n! Mah friend! This big man is ready!" I slightly jumped at the sudden noise. The cold is getting in my head. And it's making me jumpy.

"Tommy, lower down the volume, it's making me jump. you got everything you need?" You ask and looked at your inventory, double-checking the journal and weapons. You didn't plan on bring armor. Thought it would get in the way.

"Yup, I got everything. Where are we going anyway?" He asked as he took off his iron armor. "We're going to visit uh-Ranboo-"

"Ranboo? That guy that stole my bestfriend?" He scoffed.

"Uh-I thought they were platonically married so... they're husbands Tommy, not best friends.

"That's worse! That fucking bastard, I'm gonna do shit-" I glared at him "What?"

"You do know that we're related right? So if you hurt him, I may or may not take that last life of yours." His eyes widen.

"You guys are related?!" You flinched at his tone of pitch "Yes, Tommy. Didn't Phil tell you?" You said.

"PHIL KNEW ABOUT THIS!?"

You were currently controlling the crystal with Tommy blabbering about how Ranboo was my step-brother or something.

"So are you guys siblings?-or did your mother adopt him?" this is getting annoying.

"My family s very complicated, Tommy. It's hard to explain so just shut your little mouth and keep quiet before I yeet you out of this crystal and let you fall and die." You said making him quiet. You sighed in relief. finally some peace and quiet.

Dream went to scout ahead to the portal. I told him to try to look for traps or an easier way to get there so we don't have to get hurt cause I'm powerless right now. I don't know what happened to my powers or what caused it to go away. I just know that there's a way to get them back.

"Why trust him?" You went back to the real world and  "Huh?"

"Dream. Why trust him when you know he can't be trusted." He  said looking afar to see a portal to the SMP.

"I-I don't know." You paused and looked down at the ground as you pass through them. You stop mid-way to the portal and looked at Tommy "You're planning to kill him right?" you asked straightforwardly. 

"I-uh-yeah..." You nodded "You know killing him won't make you a hero." You said and continued to fly to the portal.

"What? He's a bad guy-" 

"And that would make you too if you kill him." You said slightly raising your voice "Tell me Tommy, Am I a bad guy? Am I a villain?" You asked landing in front of the portal and eyed him.

"Tommy, do you see me as a bad guy? A villain?" you asked again.

"Why are you aski-"

"Let me rephrase the question. What if I tell you me and Dream are the same?" He looked confused which he was. 

"what do you mean you guys are the same? Y/n, he's Dream, a manipulative psychopath who exiled me, manipulated people and almost killed your friends. He tricked you and lead you to your death. He teared this server apart. He's a bad guy. How are you guys the same?" He questioned.

"No one is a bad guy." You said making him more confused "Look at yourself before you judge what he did. Look at yourself before you judge me. I killed people before Tommy. I made at least one person's life a living hell. So am I a bad guy too?" He was quiet for a second. You sighed "You're still young Tommy-I'm still young. We both have yet to discover about this world." You clenched your hands into a fist "May things to learn and to do. You made L'manberg to have freedom. But Tommy, it's time to wake up because freedom is something you still don't understand. We're not free. No one you know is. Think about it for a second Toms. If you kill Dream, you'll lose me. If you want freedom, you'll have to open your eyes because it's not out there, it's not somewhere. Freedom is right in front of you." You hold his shoulder and squeezed it. 

"You?" He asked. You hit him "oW!" 

"Not me, dumbass. Freedom is something you have to get on your own. You just need someone to guide you to it. Freedom is being free from yourself. Being free from your doubts and hesitation. What you've been doing is not getting freedom. I've told this Tuboo before. Killing Dream is not justice or gaining freedom from his manipulation. It's revenge. And you'll be as bad as him if you do it."

You'll be bad as me if you do it.

 "I.... Thank you woman. You really are something." He smiled. You didn't know what he was thanking you for but "You're welcome?" You said-more asked.

"Now let's go and pay that Best friend-stealing-asshole!" He said enthusiastically.

You hit him.

"oW! Fuck you bitch!"
