The room was dark and empty, and there was a rotten smell that lingered in the air. My cheeks were damp from all the tears that I had cried and my eyes were bloodshot red. My arms were going numb from being tied up for such a long period, 12 hours I had been here I think? Maybe even longer than that. I didn't know. But what I did know was that I needed to get out of here faster than ever. Why were they doing this to me?

My body had gotten tired and my bum was starting to ache from sitting on this uncomfortable wooden chair for so long. I couldn't take it anymore. All I wanted to do was go back home to my son and relax.

*12 HOURS EARLIER*

"Ilayda stop stressing yourself out! I'll pick him up and bring him back to mines, and that will leave you some time to sort out your uni stuff." my mum said reassuring me

I was having such a rubbish day today. I had a shit ton of overdue assignments to hand back into my teachers and my car decided that it would break down in the middle of the road, which left me completely puzzled about what to do. Jamir texted me saying that he was in his way and it had been a good 30 minutes. My dad was on holiday with his brothers so he couldn't help me either and my mum was on her way to Ibrahim's nursery to pick him up.

On top of all that, I was late for my lecture which started half an hour ago and I already knew that the lecturer would be bugging me because of my lateness. It's irritating but I can't blame them because my attendance at uni had been lowering and I was slacking. It was horrible. I was always focused on Ibrahim since he's my number one priority which meant that I rarely had time for my school work.

I sighed out loud and drummed my fingers on the steering while, slowly losing my patience. After what seemed like an hour, a tow truck had finally come to save the day. Jamir still wasn't here yet and it had pissed me off, not to mention the bad mood that I was already in from earlier on. I needed to take a long hot shower and get some rest.

I ordered myself an Uber and sighed in relief when I saw that it was already on its way and that the driver was nearby. I hopped in the car once it came and buckled up my seatbelt. I greeted the driver and plugged in my earphones to avoid starting a conversation. All I was focused on was getting back home safe and sound.

'You have an incoming call from 𝗌𝗁𝖺𝗏𝗈𝗇𝗇𝖾, 𝖬𝖺𝗂𝖺𝗋𝖺 & 𝖭𝗈𝗅𝖺𝗇𝗂!" Siri announced making me jump

"Hey, guys!" I chirped and a large smile appeared on my face

It felt like it had been forever since I had seen it spoken to them.

"Ilayda how come you didn't come in today? I had to sit next to stinking Daniel. He even had the cheek to try and move to me during the lecture." Shavonne complained and kissed her teeth

"I was late and my car broke down. It wouldn't have made sense for me to come in any way since I only had one lecture but I'm definitely coming in tomorrow." I nodded and rolled my eyes at the thought of having to get on public transport

Don't get me wrong, I don't have any problems with getting on the bus or train. But it's the people that piss me off. It could be rush hour and these people will still run for a train that has already left and then start shouting at everyone as if it's their fault. And them people who think that they're different from everyone else and try to bump TfL then start getting aggy when they get caught. Them type of people there annoy me!
