"Mummy can i play out today?" I asked
"No." Mum said and went back to cooking
"Please?" I whined
"Cecilia I said no." She kissed her teeth
I grumpily walked away to my room and started playing games on my brothers old Nintendo ds. I eventually got bored and turned on the tv and started flicking through channels. Nothing caught my eye so I made my way downstairs to the kitchen.
"Don't ask my if you can go outside because I'm not going to answer you." Mum said
"I just came in here to get a drink mum." I pulled the apple juice out of the fridge and poured it into a cup
"Hmmm."
The doorbell rang loudly and I hurried to the front door to see who was there. My friend Junior stood there with two maggi cubes in his hand and frown was plastered on his face.
"What's wrong with you?" I asked and watched him take off his shoes
"Mum said I'm not allowed to play out today or tomorrow because I was talking in church." He walked into the kitchen and greeted my mum
"Hello Aunty Gifty." Junior smiled and handed my mum the maggi cubes
"Junior my second child." She put everything down and hugged him tightly
Juniors looked at me and I laughed. My mum began to lecture him on why he shouldn't be talking in church. When she was done, we both ran to my room and started talking about random things.
"Cecilia." Mum shouted from downstairs
"Coming." I got up and went to her
"Go and buy me plantain from the market and take Junior with you aswell." She handed me the money and I ran back upstairs to Junior
I told him what my mum had said and we bothe slipped on our shoes then walked outside. Junior kept on messing around so I told him to stop otherwise I'll go home and tell his mum what he was doing, and he instantly stopped. We carefully crossed the road and continued making our way to the market.
"Cecilia come we can cross." Junior looked left and right before going to cross but i quickly grabbed his hand
"No junior it's not safe." I held onto his arm tighter
