The Summer

The summer was going relatively well for Victoria at The Burrow. To be honest, it was going much better than any summer she had ever had at Malfoy Manor. Molly was an excellent cook, the twins were always keeping things fun, Ron was bound and determined to make her a quidditch player, and her and Ginny had become very close. On top of it all, Fleur, Bill's wife, had taken to asking her for help on several wedding festivities. Fleur stated that Victoria had refined taste, much like her own. The two of them spent many nights picking out floral arrangements, deciding on cake flavors, and even picking a honeymoon destination for the couple.

"Oh, what about Egypt?" Ron asked one evening after dinner. Fleur, Victoria and him were all sitting in the kitchen.

"Don't be silly," Fleur said in her usual airy tone. "Egypt is hot and dry. We want to go somewhere refined and elegant."

Before Ron could argue a George's voice beamed from the doorway. "Yeah Ron, don't be silly. Fleur and Bill want to go somewhere romantic." George did a fake swoon and Fred caught him and joined in on the nagging.

"Don't criticize him George, you forget our brother lacks romance." A devilish smirk had appeared on Fred's face as he spoke.

"I can be romantic," Ron interjected with a pout.

Fleur sensing the boiling argument patted Ron on the arm and told Victoria they would discuss more later.

Fred and George took the seats next to Ron and Victoria. A playful grin was still present on both of their faces. A grin Victoria had come to understand meant trouble in the Weasley household.

"Little brother, you don't know the first thing about romance. But that is perfectly fine. Right, George?" Fred stated while grinning at Ron.

"Perfectly fine, indeed," nodded George. "That is one blessing of having two very experienced older brothers."

Victoria rolled her eyes and made to get up and leave. She did not need to hear about George and Fred's sex lives. But as she stood, George lightly grabbed her arm.

"Where are you going? We won't ask you anything we don't already know the answer too." Fred nodded in agreement.

Victoria thought for a minute before speaking. Most of the summer, the twins had not picked on her. Occasionally, they would but it was mostly reserved for Ron. Victoria, feeling she needed to stick up for Ron, was quick on her feet with a comeback. She slowly sat back down and said in a matter-of-fact voice, "Well you said two very experienced older brothers so I'm assuming you wanted me to wake Bill and owl for Charlie?" She let a small smirk play at the corner of her lips and they sat mouths slightly ajar, staring at her.

Ron laughed so hard he had tears flowing out of his eyes.

"Ha, ha, very funny, Black," Fred said with a slight eye roll. This was, in fact, the first time they had both ever really been speechless. After a few moments of Ron continuing to laugh and the twins regaining their composure, George rounded on Victoria again.

Oh great, she thought to herself.

"Well, while you are here you can help us," George smirked.

"What could I possibly help with when it comes to that kind of conversation?" Victoria asked.

"Oh don't act so innocent, sweet Victoria," said George while throwing an arm around her shoulder.

Fred nodded and said, "Yeah, don't think we don't know about you and Harry."

Victoria cheeks flushed a scarlet red. How in the world could they possibly know about her and Harry? Had Harry told them? Ron shifted uncomfortably in the seat next to her.
