Chapter 71 - The Truth Untold

Emmeline POV

I still didn't have a hold to the reality and the longest time I could stay awake was for 10 minutes and they had already buried Kae, Eve was in her room and after knowing that I passed out again in Nick's arms. 

Kae. 

He was more than a friend to me, a brother. 

And now he left us, left me and left Eve alone. I was scared for Eve, she may act strong but deep down she was starting to break again and this time I am scared that I won't be able to help her stand up.

I was scared for Nick too, he had Kae with him since they were young and when everyone left him, Kae was there for him and with him gone now....

Kaeden's departure from our life has left a huge impact to all of us, it is going to take alot of courage for all of us to move on, but I believe that eventhough he is gone, he will always be with us in ways that we won't be able to understand. 

5 Days Later

"She is awake!" the door slammed open and everyone was in the room, I groaned and sat up with Eve's and Amy's help, "don't scare me like that Emmy, I can't lose someone I love again"

"I am here Eve" I hugged as she cried, "how are you doing?"

"It is me who should ask you that"

Eve was bottling up her emotions, she was getting ready for something.

"I am fine" I looked around at the exquisite design in the room, "where are we?"

"At the Royal Kingdom" Nick sat down beside me on the bed answering, "you were shot and you didn't even feel that?" I looked at my shoulder that was wrapped with bandages.

"Why are we here?"

"I will answer that question" the Elder of the council walked in to the room, "Greetings Princess Emmeline, we've watched over you since your entrance to Nicholas Viotto's life 6 years ago, it was then we realized that you were the lost princess but we couldn't do anything to bring you back here since it would only put your life in more danger"

The Elder was much older than I expected, he wore a pair of black round spectacles and had wrinkles in his face. A small moustache settled just above his upper lip. His had an exhausted look in his face.

"Why am I here?"

"The story is a bit complicated but it is vital that you know why you are named as the Princess of Mafia when you are Emmett Steele's daughter" The Elder looked at me, "you see that butterfly tattoo in your finger" I nodded, "that is the proof that connects you to the Royal Family"

"This tattoo connects me to the Royal family and not my family?"

"Yes"

"Queen Nolena's brother was Emmett Steele"

"She is my aunt?"

"You can say that" he shrugged, "Though they share the same family name, Queen Nolena was the adopted daughter of the Steele family" slowly one by one started to leave the room, "you can stay Nicholas, you are part of the Princess's life now"

"Do you want me to stay here with you?" I nodded, "are you sure? because you need to know about your family first without anyone interfering"

"You are my family Nick and you are not interfering"

"Queen Nolena was friends with your mother Nick and Kaeden's mother before she was adopted to the Steele family and King Howard fell in love with your aunt when they met in a war--

"They met in a war? were they allies or rivals?"

"Rivals because King Howard was undercover, he joined the enemies side to ruin their plan but your aunt didn't know that and we almost lost our King when she shot him--
