Gabriella POV

I opened my eyes as I remembered everything. I thought I could finally put everything behind me but no because when I pressed the trigger and the deafening sound reverberated through the room, all I could see was my mother, Lynn and everyone else, how the bullet pierced their body. How my one mistake put everything in stake. How my selfish need for freedom put many lives at risk.

I removed the IV needle and stood up wobbling for a bit.

I walked to the door and opened it in search for the kitchen, the strumming of a guitar stopped me in my tracks. I walked closer to the sound, it was coming from Alek's room, the door was opened a bit and the lights were dimmed as he looked at the night sky.

You keep telling me that I am free to go

But I am addicted to you

It's a lie, it's a lie, it's a lie

When I am not here you are alone can you walk by your own

Don't you lie, don't you lie, don't you lie.

And I think you should know that I won't let it go

It was like a million times

I am singing a lullaby

And I think you should know that I won't let it go

I thought that it was enough

But I don't wanna say goodbye

And I think you should know

It was hard to say

His voice was enchanting, he strummed the guitar, I leaned against the side of the wall listening to him.

Every minute we spent together doesn't matter for you

It's a lie, it's a lie, you're a liar

He always was an amazing singer, all those times when he would sing when no one else was in the house, all those times when I got lost in his music because although I had no one with me, his music brought me strength to stand strong. He didn't like others hearing him singing because his father always wanted him to be strong and he saw music as a distraction.

Every time you wanna walk the door

I don't blame you, I don't blame you

And I think you should know that I won't let you go

"Come in Gabriella" his voice startled me, "I know you are there"

I slowly opened the door and walked in, his room was painted in pitch black colour, he had a desk placed in the corner that was stacked with papers and a laptop placed in the middle. The light bulbs were on either side of the room unlike mine which had four, the clothes were hanging on the edge of the bed and on the couch.

I looked down on myself, I was in his grey tee that settled right above my knee, I could have changed but his were far more comfortable than my own. His eyes roamed through my body.

"How did you know?"

"Your loud steps" he smirked as I rolled my eyes, "where were you going anyways?

His sudden change was a bit surreal

"I am hungry" I told, he stood up and placed his guitar on the couch and walked towards me and grabbed my hand in his, it may meant nothing to him but for me it was everything. It wasn't that I forgot he was using me but I rather let myself forget about it for sometime

"Let's go"

I missed you, I wanted to tell that out loud but I just couldn't, as much as I was angry at him for kidnapping me, I was also glad that I didn't have to stay with Logan anymore.

We walked to the kitchen and he pulled out the ingredients, as he was cutting some tomatoes and stirring the spaghetti, I spoke

"So you can sing?"

"How much did you hear?" he briefly looked at me before going back to cutting.

"Probably everything?" he groaned, "you have an amazing voice for such a cold-hearted man"

"Shut up"

I chuckled at his flushed face "So umm thank you" I fidgeted my fingers, he placed the plate in front of me and sat on the stool beside me

"Here" I stared at him weirdly, he was giving me a phone, "even if you call for help they won't be able to track you and you don't know where we are exactly so I don't see any problem in giving you that" he shrugged

"Thanks again I guess?"

"You can call your family and friends but do not call anyone else understood?" I nod my head as I swallowed the spaghetti.

"Alek who is the Czar?"

I never heard of them before, either they were new or very old group.

"They are a group of trained assassins, once they are given a target and a mission they will stop at nothing until it is fulfilled" he kept his answer to the minimum.

"Why were they after me?"

"I don't know" he answered

"You are lying you know the reason" I stated, "there is something more than the things I know"

"And how do you know?" he raised his eyebrow, I thought he would slip up

"You tend to bite your lower lip when you are thinking or nervous" I pointed out, he tends to do that a lot in the past, that's how I figured it out because when he lies he thinks a lot before telling the lie

"No I don't do that" he muttered as he took a fork full of his spaghetti

"Deny it all you want" I sang, "but I am going to find it out"

"Why are you staring at my lips princess?" the way he said sent chills in my body,

"I wasn't staring at your lips" I muttered

"Deny it all you want" he smirked repeating my words and picked the finished plates putting it in the dishwasher, "when I say this it is for your own good, sometimes it is better to keep things hidden because there is a reason they are meant to be hidden"

"Not when it is the reason your life is being threatened" I said and walked to my room as he stood in front of my door.

I didn't come this far to be drag down to hell again. I lost twice I am not going to lose again.
