The Glamis Castle, built in XIV, a hundrend years after Duncan Era, is rich for its legends and ghosts. A guest explained her night there:
She suddenly woke up and saw a palid face, with two big tired eyes, staring at her from the other side of the courtyard.
The face disappeared and the guest heard some horrible screams. Seconds later, an old lady with a piece of luggage in her arms came from the entrance hall and she ran across the courtyard.
A hammering woke up another guest and it lasted for hours. Next morning, when he complained to the host, the host got angry and told him to shut up and never mention that again.
But there was no carpenter working on the castle, and rumors said the hammering was only heard before the death of a family's member.
The story of the deaths started with the death of the Eighth Count of Glamis, who died in a fight against the Count of Crawford; the death of the Fifth Count of Strathmore in the battle of Sheriff Muir; and the murder of the Sixth Count during a round of cards.
In the castle, the death of several member of Ogilvy's clan is relationed with a creepy fact: those members came to the castle to ask Lord Glamis to save them from the Lindis' clan, who were persecuting them.
The Lord Glamis locked them on a jail pretending to help them, and he promised to serve them food and drinks... but he only let them die of starvation.
Another Count heard noises in that jail, so he went to open the door. He looked and then he stepped back blinded by a mortal faint.
His servants saw a skeleton's group who were lying the same way they have died: trying to bite their own flesh.
The room got locked.
Nobody knows if this is why the hammering.
