Painting the Faces Red

"You mean to tell me... that she, SHE is an Alice?" I yelled at him, my voice quivering.

"Yes. Sadly she is. Everybody here knows it and we know that that is the exact reason why we can't kill herr... apart from her being a queen. You see, the first Alice was a very magical being with wonderous beauty and was adored by all except for her sister. One day she returned to the real world and was followed back by her sister. In her anger of the younger one following her here she turned to hate and blood, which is where the color of her kingdom came from. She is the Red Queen because she is the Hateful Queen. With her growing anger and hostility her beautiful looks began to wane as her younger sisters set in as she attempted to restore peace in Dreamland, thus earning the name of White Queen. The two have been at odds ever since and while the White Queen has attempted on multiple occasions to end the fight, the Red Queen fights back with her anger and bitterness... you have no clue how many before us have died at the bitches hands." Explained William. I shook in my shoes, slowly processing it all.

"So... why can't she be killed?" I asked, horrified

"Only another Alice can kill her." He said, taking in my shaking frame. "None so far have survived long enough to even think of doing so."

"T-that may have to change..." I whispered as I looked at my fragile figure reflected into the mirror by moonlight. "Train me William. Train me to kill her."

"Alice... I'm not sure if that is a wise idea." He cautioned.

"I don't care. I may hacve only been here for less than two days but I know that she is a terrible person and probably wants to kill all of Dreamland. I can't have that... it just isn't right."

"And neither is a gazelle like you wanting to kill her." he let slip before covering his mouth in shock.

        "Gazelle?"

"Alice... I like you, a lot. I know it's really sudden and not natural, probably not ok... but I do and that is a big part of the reason why I dont want YOU to be the Alice that has to face her."

"Has to? None of us have to do anything, we choose to do everything we do for those that we hate or love. I want to do this for all the poor people in Dreamland."

"No Alice you may not have a choice. We must consult Absalom... he has this scroll with the timeline for all of Wonderland all the way to its end... that will show that one Alice does infact kill the red headed bitch, but it may not be you. And if it isn't you then I don't want you to try to. Not only will it bring peace to Dreamland but if anything on the timeline does not happen the way it is shown, its all over. Dreamland dies. Not just the people, but our whole world. You cannot do that Alice. Promise me."

"I promise." I mumbled, feeling like nothing. William took one step closer and wraped his arms protectively around me.

"I promise that I won't let anything happen to you. Okay?" he asked. I nodded in agreement and he lowered his head ever so slightly, and pressed his soft lips against my cheek, no doubt wanting to do so much more...
