Baekhyun nodded his head to the beat of the demo song blaring through the speakers, his eyes unfocused as he looked at the lyrics printed on a piece of paper. His mind couldn't seem to stop wandering as he absentmindedly hummed along to the catchy tune that was to be his upcoming mini album's title track.

When he recklessly barged into the studio that Chanyeol was using yesterday, Baekhyun wasn't expecting to send someone falling back onto the ground. He couldn't hold back his laughter back then due to how comical everything was. Still, as humorous as Baekhyun could be, he felt kind of bad for laughing at her. That's why he offered to drive her home and even let her flick his forehead.

And then she laughed.

Yesterday, Cho Sarang had been a little bit grumpy after their first meeting, which was understandable given the circumstances. Though she didn't seem like the type to hold a grudge, he still did his part in somewhat saving his first impression with her. That's all he wanted to do, prevent any uncomfortable feelings from lingering. But then she flicked his forehead and she laughed.

Now, a brand new day had begun and Baekhyun still couldn't quite get the sound of her laugh out of his head.

"Baekhyun." Kim Yeon Jung—an established songwriter that he and EXO had worked with multiple times in the past—called out for his name for the third time before he finally snapped out of his trance. "Well? What do you think?"

"What? Oh," He quickly scanned his eyes over the words again, taking in the rhymes and matching them up with the rhythm of the music in his head. "Yeah, it's great! As usual from you, noona."

Yeon Jung just smiled, by now she was used to Baekhyun's generous—and often exaggerated—compliments. "Let's go over the other songs so we can start recording soon."

"Got it." Baekhyun nodded and started to inspect the lyrics printed on the next piece of paper when Kwang Ji—his manager—got up from the couch he was previously sitting on.

"I have some stuff to take care of, you alright on your own?" He asked the idol.

"Yeah, thanks hyung." Once the manager left, Baekhyun quickly returned his attention to work, focusing again on the task at hand. Preparing a solo album was a vastly different experience from subunit and group albums, he was excited to show a different color of his voice and his personality through this project. So far, Baekhyun and his team had prepared four tracks. Really soon, he would start recording them one by one.

After working through the whole morning and afternoon, discussing the lineup of the album and possible additional tracks, they finally spared some time for a break. Although he already had lunch, Baekhyun decided to use up his downtime for a quick trip to his favorite tteokbokki place nearby. He needed his snacks to fill up his energy and work harder, right?

He swiftly shrugged his jacket and face mask on, not forgetting a beanie that was pulled low on his forehead to better hide his identity. The place was maybe only two blocks away, so he shoved his hands in the pockets of his jacket and walked out into the streets. The sky was getting oddly gloomy, but it was barely 4 pm. Whenever Baekhyun's out anywhere near SM's building, he always walked pretty fast to avoid getting recognized.

It was because of his fast pace that he caught up with her.

As Baekhyun walked for just a little over a block, he noticed that he was approaching a girl walking ahead of him. From behind, he didn't recognize her. But the girl wasn't in a hurry and she seemed to be taking in her surroundings, turning her head to watch a mother and her little kid pass by. That moment when she turned her head, lazily closing her eyes for a brief second to a passing breeze, he recognized her almost right away.
