"Oppa, you're leaving already?"
Sarang came out of Baekhyun's room after changing out of the bridesmaid dress, overhearing her brother and his fiancé's phone call about hurrying back. Living in Incheon, it would be weird for him to come all the way to Seoul just to drop off her dress and leave.
"Yeah. Ga Eun was gonna have the dress delivered but I needed to see if you're okay after what happened, so might as well." Jun lightly patted her head and pulled her in a side hug, placing a chaste kiss on her forehead. "But I see you already have someone looking after you."
Sarang turned to Baekhyun when her brother said that, catching him still staring at her from the couch, smiling when he saw both her and Jun looking his way. It's been such a long time since she was on her own, living independently, working independently, doing everything independently. But Jun was right, she wasn't alone anymore. Baekhyun.. He was comfort and safety and he made everything more joyful.
Sarang had gone into a painful, confused spiral in her head after that conversation with Kwang Ji. Please just end it before either of you gets too attached, he said. Well, too late. She was attached.
No. She was so, so much more than attached.
After last night's conversation with him, Sarang felt herself calm down a little bit. Baekhyun was right, he had to live for himself. And he chose to be with her. But Kwang Ji had successfully planted a seed if doubt in her heart, one she was trying hard to fight off.
"Pick up your damn jaw, Baekhyun. Fuck's sake, she's not even in the dress anymore." Jun snapped when he saw Baekhyun still staring at his sister. Sarang immediately elbowed him in the gut, clicking her tongue in identical annoyance. Her brother flinched away from her, hugging his abdomen protectively.
If there was one habit that Sarang developed from growing up with Jun as her brother, it was shutting people up with physical force. "Quit terrorizing him, you're so dramatic."
Baekhyun met her eyes as she scolded her brother, his stupid grin making her heart flutter furiously. His playful words from last night echoed in her head.
You love me, admit it.
"Fine, I gotta head back anyway." Jun gave her one last, full hug, engulfing her in his arms before the three of them headed outside, Baekhyun and Sarang stopping at the doorway. Jun paused as he opened his car's driver's seat door, looking back at the couple.
"Take care, you two. And you-" he pointed to Baekhyun, narrowing his eyes. "Stop ogling my sister."
Sarang turned to see Baekhyun grinning at her brother, a mischievous glint in his eyes as he deliberately avoided responding to her brother's commands. "Drive safe, hyung."
Jun shook his head and let out a laugh of disbelief before getting into the driver's seat and driving away.
Baekhyun's fingers entwined with hers as they went back inside, half an hour away from having to leave for the studio.
"Not to be dramatic, but you're the single most ethereal being I've ever witnessed with my mortal eyeballs." He uttered in a exaggerated, most definitely dramatic tone. "I don't think I've ever been to a wedding with bridesmaids."
Sarang hummed, "Ga Eun eonni lived in America for a long time, she really likes western style weddings. Her family likes the idea too." Baekhyun leaned back half-sitting on the couch backrest, swinging her hand in his. "Oppa just wants to get married."
"I should go to more western weddings if all the bridesmaids are gonna look like you." He mulled thoughtfully. Sarang rolled her eyes, reaching one hand up to squish both of his cheeks with her fingers. But his brows furrowed as she let his face go, "What about your family, they don't mind?"
