By the end of Neji's speech, Tenten was already crying. It was a good thing she didn't wear mascara because she would have ruined her face. When it was her turn to say her vows, she could only choke up and laugh. "I- oh Neji I love you so much!" She breathed, flabbergasted.
Cue the background noises and fangirling squeals.
"Aww..."
"I'm glad I talked to you. I'm glad you let me be around you. What started as a challenge to know why you were always moody grew to wanting to know you. It grew into wanting to see you smile. It grew into wanting to make you smile everyday. Before I knew it, I was falling and I could not get myself out. I never want to get myself out."
A watery but happy smile lifted Tenten's lips as she spoke. Her eyes never left her groom and his never left hers. They were alone as long as they were concerned. The crowd faded into the silence, it was just them. Neji Hyuga and Tenten soon to be Hyuga. In just a few moments. Right now.
"The things you said to me? I say it right back to you. When you have something to say, I would lend a listening ear to you. I would be your comfort in times of trouble. My arms are forever open for you. Staying with you till we're gray and old is my dream and I am very glad that we're taking our first step into forever today. Right now. Forever might be a very long time but Neji, forever is you. I love you so much."
After the wedding came the children, obviously. They had two cute bon bons they named Tenya and Airi. Tenya was the older one of the two and looked like a carbon copy of his father, even in his behavioural characteristics. Airi, the younger was just like her mother in everything except maybe sense of fashion.
She certainly loved glitter and dresses and Tenten was hoping that it was just a girl phase because there was glitter everywhere in her home! Glitter in the kitchen, on the fridge, her shampoo...that was obviously one of Tenya's pranks...her house was turning into a glitter factory!
And guess who the rat that had been eating the grilled chicken in the fridge was? Her dear husband and her sneaky son. Ugh! It seemed like she would only keep raw stuff in the fridge from now on.
There were times the three of them– Neji and the kids– conspired to make her day a living hell with their trouble (seriously, one would think their home wasn't a madhouse) but she could never stay angry at them for too long.
Not when she sees Airi having a tea party with her dolls with Neji seated on the table in one of her dresses, horrible make up by Airi and with a plastic doll cup as 'Princess Angelina' ('free me from this cutiefied slavery!', his eyes would scream), or when she meets Tenya passed out on the couch with a half eaten sandwich looking so much like his dad when asleep.
She loved her family so much and she was very thankful for the man that helped created them.
Neji Hyuga.
