Tenten paced around, unable to keep still even as everyone came in to congratulate her. Her parents were in the waiting room with her, trying in vain to calm her down but she could not be sated.

Neji had met her parents, enamoured them with his charms, met all eight of her very annoying siblings, received their blessings to marry her, paid the dowry price, and now it was their wedding day.

She was anxious.

She knew that Neji would never get cold feet on her, but she was just very anxious. Now she would be leaving her parents and joining with her husband. Husband! Oh God, she was so anxious.

Was her hair good? Did she look okay? Did the gown fit? It felt somehow big on her as if she had lost weight between her fitting and today. Would the priest be late? What if she fell during the wedding march? What if she forgot her vows?!!!

"Tenten darling, you're having a mid life crisis!" Her mom cut her out of her deprecating thoughts by placing a hand on her shoulder. "Look. If you're worried about how you look then you should have worried ages ago when Neji saw you with the ridiculous hair Je ming did for you."

Tenten groaned at the embarrassing memory. She had allowed her younger brother to practice a haircut on her hair when she went on a visit to her parents' house- it turned out to be a very bad idea- and Neji just had to show up at that very moment because he was panicking that he didn't find her in her own apartment and she didn't leave a message.

"You have loved each other for years, nothing is going to change that!" Mothers are great but her mum was the best. Tenten finally calmed after the encouraging pep talk.

A blush adorned her face at the way Neji's jaw literally hit the ground when she walked in with her father. It increased when a stupid grin stretched his lips, surprising everybody that had never actually seen him smile before. He was so handsome.

She could hear her mum and siblings crying somewhere at the background. Ino, her chief bride's maid was wagging her brows and making subtle gestures of how Neji was swooning. Kiba, the best man (surprise!) was grinning ear to ear, happy for them. Her other friends and Neji's were whispering encouragements as she passed.

The little bride and ring bearer, Hanabi (Neji's little cousin) and Konohamaru (a kid Tenten considered another brother) were so cute in their formal outfits. It was so wonderful.

When it was time to read their vows, Neji looked directly into her eyes and nowhere else. The love he had for her was so strong that it made Tenten gasp despite having seen this look a lot.

"I can't believe that today is finally here. If I'm dreaming, somebody break my alarm clock, I don't want to wake up." People laughed and cooed at how Tenten blushed and ducked her head shyly. But she still met his gaze. "Tenten." He said her name with a dreamy sigh, as dreamy as Neji could get.

"I was a miserable loser. I was lonely, and I was slowly losing my mind. Everyday was a quest for me, a quest to hold back taking my life for another day. I wanted to quit. In fact I was going to quit on the day you found me and talked to me."

Tenten didn't know this at all. The extent of Neji's heartache. The man himself covered up a tear that slipped down his face with a soft laugh.

"You asked what the date was and you did it with a smile, something that hadn't been directed at me in so long. Then you shared your lunch with me. You never complained about how I practically freeloaded off you. You encouraged me, and you made me the man I am today."

The crowd was quiet save for the loud snaps of the digital cameras and some cooing.

"I don't know what to say but I'd promise you this; on the nights you're cold, I'd be there. On days when you feel down, I'd do anything to make you smile again. In the rain, I'd be your shelter. In sunshine, I'd be your shade. I would pamper you with everything I have and when we have children, I'd be their world. When we fight, I'd do everything to get you to forgive me. When you cry, I'd be your shoulder.

I'd never treat you bad because I never want to see you sad. I'd share your joy and your pain. Baby, there's nothing I won't do to keep you smiling forever. I love all of you, flaws and all. I would cherish you forever, my best friend, my lifeline, my wife."
