Chapter 6

TRAINEE CAMP

Eren, Leon, Mikasa and Armin had made it into the Cadet Corps. They were standing in a big group of kids around their age all lined up in a big patch of dirt. They were sorounded by forest and mountains.

A bald man with noticeable wrinkles and wide eyes was yelling very loudly. Commandant Kieth Shadis, former Commander of the Scout Regiment. He walked over to the blue eyed Armin with a threatening and intimidating look on his face.

Kieth: Hey, kid!

Armin: Sir!

Kieth: Who the hell are you?

Armin: Armin Arlert from Shiganshina, sir!

Kieth: That so? Name fit for a retard! Your parents named you that?

Armin: I was named after my grandfather, sir!

Kieth: Arlert! Why are you here?

Armin: To contribute to humanity's victory, sir!

Kieth: How very admirable! You should make great titan food! (grabbing Armin's head and rotating his body 180 degrees) Third squad! About face!

The commandant now approached a tall, blonde boy with the intentions to question him, same as everyone else.

Kieth: Who the hell are you?!

???: Sir! I'm Thomas Wagner from Trost, sir!

Kieth: I can't hear you!

Thomas proceeded to repeat himself, louder the second time.

Kieth then continued to go from cadet to cadet asking them the same question, demanding them to state their names when he stopped at a tall boy with salmon colored hair.

Kieth: Who the hell are you?!

???: Jean Kirstein from Trost, sir!

Kieth passed in front of a few recruits without asking for their names or humiliating them like everyone else, including Leon, Eren, Mikasa and some others.

Kieth: What are you here for?!

Jean: To join the Military Police Brigade and reside in the interior districts, sir.

Kieth: I see, so you wanna live in the inner districts?

Jean: Yes, sir.

Kieth lunged forward and head butted Jean which made him drop to his knees in pain, holding his aching head.

Kieth: Who gave you permission to sit?! If you can't handle that you won't make it into the Military Police Brigade! (walking over to a different recruit) And who the hell are you?! What are you here for?!

???: I'm Marco Bott from Jinae, sir! I came to join the Military Police Brigade and pledge myself to the king!

Kieth: Is that so? Good man. A noble objective. But remember: The king doesn't want you. Next, you there, who the hell are you?!

???: I'm Connie Springer from Ragako village, sir!

Kieth noticed the bald kid in front of him doing the salute with the wrong hand and grabbed his head, lifting him off the ground.

Kieth: Litsen up, Connie Springer! This was one of the first things you were taught: The salute means you're offering your heart to the king! Is your heart on your right side, shit head?!

Keith was interrupted by the sound of a crunch. He looked behind the kid he was holding in the air to see a brown haired girl eating a potato. Everyone, including Kieth was staring at her but, she didn't seem to know this. Kieth dropped Connie and started walking toward potato girl.
