The next morning the scouts had returned from an expedition outside the walls. They rode their horses on the street as citizens and cadets alike stood on the sides of the roads giving way for them to pass.

Leon, Mikasa, Eren and Armin stood among the people on the sides of the roads along with a few other cadets aswell.

Commander Erwin rode his beautiful white horse, which only the commander of the scouts was able to ride, as the people of Trost excitedly yelled congratulating him.

Man 1: That's right commander Erwin! Did you give those ugly bastards a thrashing?!

Man 2: Look! It's Captain Levi!

Eren and Leon turned to look at the short man he was talking about to see him riding his horse along with his commrads. He had a straight unbothered face not seeming to care about the applause.

Man 2: They say he's like an entire brigade all to himself!

Leon: (thoughts) An entire brigade?! I'll have to meet him once I become a scout for sure!

Eren: Feel how excited everybody is? It's like the croud just has a different energy now.

Hannah: Well, we are going on five years without incident. Seems like a good omen.

Franz: And you should check out all the Canon upgrades! The sight alone ought to be enough to scare 'em off!

Hannah: That's the truth!

Eren: You in denial 'cus you're a couple?! What's that about?

Hannah: Woah, woah, woah this isn't what it looks like!

Franz: Knock it off man! It's embarrassing!

Leon: *giggling*

All of a sudden a familiar voice was heard approaching the four friends.

Hannes: Hey, hey look here!

Leon: Mr. Hannes!

Hannes walked over to the four teens with a smile on his face.

Hannes: Word on the streets is that they let you graduate, eh? Either you've grown up or standards have plummeted.

Eren: Yeah, like you're one to talk, the corp of ingeneers keep their new chief on a drink?

Hannes: oi, watch it. You gotta keep this boy in check, Leon, can't have him insulting people left and right, heh?

Leon: I try Mr. Hannes.

Hannes: Leon, I'm sorry if this is out of the blue but, I want you to know your mom's death still haunts me.

Leon: Me too but, it wasn't your fault. We were shooting in the dark then but nothing like that's gonna happen again. We know what we're dealing with now.

Eren: What?! The hell you mean you're joining the scouts? What happened to the MP's? That was your whole thing?

Now atop the wall the 104th were cleaning up the new canons for use when Connie announced he'd be joining the Scout regiment.

Leon: Leave him to it, Eren, if he wants to join the scouts it's for a good reason I'm sure.

Connie: Yeah man, just don't worry about it, a guy's allowed to change his mind, ok?

Mina: I think Eren's speach lit a fire under him.
