Chapter 7

Leon and his 3 childhood friends sat at the table eating after what had happened to Eren when some random recruit turned around to look toward where Eren was and smirked.

Cadet: Hey, Daz, he was talking big about butchering the titans but, he got real quite after odm training, didn't he?

Daz: I guess it's the fields for him tomorrow. Can't keep wasting food on the useless.

Leon heard what these guys were saying and even though it didn't look it, Eren did too. Leon placed his left hand on his brown haired friend in a friendly manner.

Leon: Don't litsen to them, it doesn't matter.

Eren seemed to have been ignoring his freckled friend as he was just staring at who knows what. Mikasa noticed this so she grabbed his left shoulder and squeezed it hard.

Eren: Aagh!

Mikasa: Eren.

Armin: Worrying won't solve a thing but, there's still time to get some practice in.

Leon: Yeah, he's right.

Eren: How pathetic. How am I supposed to kill them if I can't stand up straight?

Mikasa: It might be time to let that dream die.

Leon: No, you're wrong Mikasa. Even though you didn't get it right away, it doesn't mean you won't get it at all, just keep practicing, don't forget why you're fighting, Eren.

Mikasa: I disagree with you, Leon. Being determined and having a dream doesn't guarantee success, it doesn't mean you will be good. I think you should give up this attempt to be a soldier, there's a lot more to fighting and combat than just throwing your life away in vain.

Leon: Really?!

Eren: What are you saying? After everything we saw that day! After what happened to my mom! You're crazy if you think I'm just gonna walk away.

Leon: *scoff*

Mikasa: I get it but, it doesn't matter how determined you are.

Leon: *sigh* she... She might have a point...

Eren: W-what do you mean? You're not telling me you agree with her, Leon?

Mikasa: Eren, wether or not you're fit to be a soldier isn't up to you.

The bells rang meaning it was time to go back to the barracks for bed time and everyone began to get up and walk away.

Eren: Let's go.

Armin, Eren and Leon got their plates and began to walk away when Leon noticed that Mikasa was still sitting and talking to what she thought was Eren but turned out to just be no one. Leon stood there waiting for her to finish rambling when Sasha walked up behind him and sat down next to Mikasa.

Mikasa: -because wherever you go, I go.

Sasha: (pointing at her bread) are you going to eat that?

Mikasa lifted her bread and bit it as she got up with her plate and began to walk up next to Leon.

Leon: (handing Sasha his half eaten bread) Hey, potato girl.

Sasha: (lifting her head to look at him) Yes?

Leon: Here, you can have mine.

Sasha: Thank you!

Sasha jumped off her seat and jumped at Leon hugging him tightly as he smiled and hugged her back.

Leon: (With a slight smile) you're welcome, Sasha.

Leon and Mikasa were walking out when Leon put his hand on Mikasa's shoulder and stopped her right as they'd gone out the door.
