(DISCONTINUED) The Space Between

Day 6


After both Lucas and Kara finished their food, they both went to their room, Which neither one of them slept that night. They both laid awake, Lucas looking at the ceiling and Kara's mind locked in painful darkness. Nobody was sure what to do, and they didn't want to scare her nor make things ten times worse by trying to provide an ounce of comfort. Lucas Sighed and changed his clothes before he went and peaked into karas room. When Lucas noticed she was staring into nothingness, he walked in.

"hey."

"hey," Kara replied as she jolted

"Sleep well last night?"

"not at all" she got up and put her hand against the window

"hmm? why is that?"

"it's warm outside, and I wonder whats it's like outside."

Kara said as she took her hand off the warm window. In certain rooms, the windows were cold, and other times they were hot.

"I can maybe ask steven if you want, and we can go outside for a bit.

"Marcus Never let me.... he said it was dangerous and that It would kill me."

"He is lying. He is a controlling bastard."

"Eh, I don't care, honestly...Not like I can see it anyway...."

"oh..." Lucas said, feeling bad

"you know... It has been kinda lonely not knowing someone my age here in the Lab...."

"I guess"

"I'm glad I was able to meet you. He smiles"

"Yeah, I met you first but, eh. I kept you safe."

"at least from the guards."

"I know this place like the back of my hand."

"so...." Lucas said as he sat down on karas bed.

While Anna Was holding lazari and trying to get her to take her meds, Kayleigh walked down the hallway and had multiple needles in her lab coat. She walked into Kara's room, not saying a word to stevennore anyone else. Steven was busy in his office and was not paying attention to the cameras or what Kayleigh was doing. Indeed she had some skeptical plan.

"Hello there," Anna said with a smile.

"What are you going to use those needles for?" Anna held lazari a bit more closer.

"they're just for kara."

Kayleigh roughly jerked Kara away from Lucas and up onto the bed. Kara growled and jolted around, and Kayleigh was not in the mood as she smacked Kara across the face.

"Don't hurt her."

"Just mind your own business" Kayleigh cleaned Kara's arm as she held it in a tight grip and stabbed the needle into karas arm. Kara whimpered and tried to pull her arm back as she started to relax.

"She is my business."

"well, stay out of mine," Kayleigh snapped

"You ok, Kara?" Lucas asked

Not even moments later, Kara looked at Lucas and just passed out. Her body hit the floor as she fell off the side of the bed. It was pretty alarming to anyone in the room, especially Lucas, who was starting to panic and wasn't sure how to react to this situation.

"Don't worry, she'll be fine," Kayleigh said as she picked Kara up in her arms and walked off with her.

"I hope so...."
