(DISCONTINUED) The Space Between

Day 3

   Kara let out a yawn even though her wrist was still bleeding quite quickly. She staggered around a bit, feeling quite nauseous to herself and dizzy at that. She lost a bit of blood, and it was indeed having an impact on her tiny body. She didn't quite understand what was going on or why she was feeling the way she was feeling. Dizzyness came over her, and her mind Kinda went hasey. Being blind was undoubtedly challenging—something she never got used to. Steven walked up to her slowly from the couch.

"Kara, Please stop... I promise you're ok. It's just a bad dream..." he said in a worried tone of voice as he got some bandages and started to wrap her wounds slowly. He was watching her facial expressions.

"Please try not to do that again..." he said as he held her like you could cradle a small child.

Kara was too out of it to be complaining the fear she felt earlier was currently buried down as she yawned, just enjoying the warmth as a shiver ran down her body. as she let out a soft whimper

"Hey... It's ok," Steven said as he ran his hand through her hair. Hearing lazari's faint screams coming back into the Area. They must be close. Steven sat down on the couch, holding Kara in his lap, still Letting out a heavy sigh.

"I am not even going to bother, and I am only one man. Even if I am built like a truck, they won't listen. Plus, He's right, and it's his subject. What can I do."

Steven laid his head on the back of the couch, just trying to block out the screams that ran through his mind. Kara was breathing easy, and all curled up snuggled to his chest. Steven reached over and picked up the blanket from his left side and softly and slowly draped it back over her, hesitantly placing his hand on her back.

"What... Am I doing.." After a few hours, Steven managed to fall asleep with Kara still in his lab, all curled up. The door clicked open, and a voice Whispered into Stevens's ear.

"Wake up"

Started at the Stranger's voice, Steven Jolted a bit and opened his eyes slowly, sitting up on the couch, moving Kara with him as he moved. Hoping she would re-adjust and get comfy. He looked up at the Stranger's face, and when he realized the familiar face, he lit up with a sort of excitement.

"Xavier?, It's been a long time, old friend. How did you get in? The cords were undisclosed, I thought, well, except for the workers," Steven said in a hushed tone as not to wake Kara up.

"It does, but did you think that would stop me?" Xavier said with a chuckle and picked up stevens mug in his hand while grabbing a cup of his own from the counter above. He went over and made a new Pot of coffee. Then went and sat back down on the couch, Steven while he waited for the coffee to brew.

"Sorry, that coffee looked like it's been here for ages...." Xavier coughed out

"No, it's fine. Yeah, It's def been here for a while...."

With the sudden change of voice, Kara softly started to growl in her sleep. As if she was having a nightmare. She nearly dug her claws into stevens chest.

"Who is this?" Xavier asked in a quiet tone.

"This little furball is Kara, Shes One of the unlucky victims.... of this horrid place.. it's gone too far even for me."

"Still relying on human subjects, eh?"

"more efficient, yes?"

The lights started to flicker as she growled a bit more in her sleep. She was terrified, and she had a nightmare about what she had gone through before becoming blind—magic of her surging to the surface.

"Xavier?" Steven looked at him, questioning*

"That Wasn't me.... not this time...."

Kara screams, and Electric hits Xavier in the chest and takes the lights out for a little bit. She looks up, staring at Xavier, who, to her young mind, reminded her of a demon. He looked more like the sleep paralysis demon at the edge of everyone's bed wearing a trenchcoat than a human-made of charcoal. When Xavier was hit with the electricity, he staggered back and held the Area where it hit him. Though it shortly faded away slowly. In a panic, Steven Stood up after setting Kara down on the couch with the blanket.
