Elizabeth Had gotten off work at midnight and had come to the apartment. She was beyond Exshasted and just ready to take a break from all this chaos. She liked her job, but it was tiring. She Unlocked the door and assumed that Steven and Kota were asleep as well. To her surprise, steven was sitting on the couch just watching the news with a cup of coffee in his hand and a blanket over his lap. Kota was in her room, still sleeping from the pain meds given to her earlier before she left the hospital.
" What are you doing up so late?" Elizabeth asked him as she put away her lunch from the hospital.
"Just adjusting, I suppose...."
"You worried about her?"
Elizabeth yawned before holding her stomach for a little while. She let out a soft whimper. She was trying not to fall asleep. She Excused herself and went down the hall and got changed into some Pjs. Blue pants with coffee mugs and lattes on them. With a White tank top. She had let her ears and tail out, which she had been concealing for 12+ hours, and let out a soft sigh of relief when she did. She had opened her door to get the keys that she had left in the door. She was too tired and had nearly forgotten them there. It wouldn't be the first time that's happened. Though this time, when she opened the door, a loud gunshot rang out. Lillian was Elizabeth's twin sister. And well, Marcus was Elizabeth's ex-husband. They were after something. It was enough to wake Kota up. She was still drowsy and was not sure exactly what she heard. Elizabeth collapsed to the floor. She grabbed it at her side. Blood was running from the wound. Her shirt was soaking up as it puddled under her, in all the panic. The flashbacks flooded back, and Steven pulled out a gun with a silencer and went to where he saw Marcus.
"You have my experiment," Marcus said as he scoffed
Marcus had held Elizabeth, who was bleeding from the gunshot to the chest. He held the gun to her head. His finger was inching the trigger. He was not playing around, and he was making sure everyone knew.
"She isn't an experiment anymore," Steven said
"she walked up behind Marcus with a smile "Dear sister, it's nice to meet you finally. sadly like this" Lillian had pushed her hand into the wound, causing a scream to be let out. "You were always the weaker one."
"It's a shame she did this for you, and you're letting her bleed out."
"Marcus is there. I cannot let him take her."
"That's alright; the Silver will just kill her faster, As said. Where one goes, the other can't be far behind."
"I still have Lucas. You choose"
Steven gave a blank stare he wasn't able to comprehend.
"You can let my sister die. after she did all this for you. or you can give me some her your blood, and we'll leave"
Steven took out a syringe and took some of his blood "here."
"perfect, now that wasn't so hard" Lillian walked out with a smirk on her face stepping over Elizabeth like she was a pure piece of trash.
"I'm sorry, Kota." Steven tucked Kota back in her bed and rubbed her head-turning on the TV to block out the cries of Elizabeth, who had by now lost a lot of blood. Not sure if she was going to survive or not. Despite Kota being majorly confused, she curled back up in her bed then slowly went back to sleep. She listened to the people on the tv talk, and it put her at ease, thinking somebody was watching over her this whole time she slept. Steven Quickly ran to Elizabeth. He stuffed the wound with gauze and called an ambulance; he just prayed she would survive. The odds didn't look good. Though in an odd sequence of events, the world seems to slowly be closing on its on and off to the side was a glowing blue light dripping with blood. Not many noticed as it was in the heat of the panic. Not many saw as it was in the heat of the terror. But shortly after, she got up, holding the wound that once used to be there. She wasn't aware that it was gone. A wave of dizziness went over it. Elizabeth had limped to Kotas room and picked her up, covering her up in the bed. She made sure that Elizabeth wrapped up Kotas eye. Kota hadn't been sleeping much, and Steven was purely exhausted, and for some reason, Kota wouldn't go down for a nap no matter how hard Steven tried. Stevens's eyes widened in pure shock. He couldn't believe that she was able to get her to sleep.
