(DISCONTINUED) The Space Between

Day 13

 Xavier drove to the hospital that everyone had been taken to. While Kota's injuries had required surgery, and she was already gone. Xavier parked his car and sorta jogged into the hospital, only slowing down not getting himself hurt. When he walked into Elizabeth and Kota's room, he started at the nurse changing and making the bed.

"Can I help you?"

"yeah... Where is Dakota?" Xavier asked

"They took her into surgery."

"They took Kota?"

"yes, her legs were pretty much shattered."

"All alright... " Xavier looked more human, and he didn't have charcoal gray skin. He still had the tendrils, but he was a caucasian male with bronze-colored hair and blue eyes. The Young nurse was cleaning the stitches in Elizabeth's wounds and on her face. Steven went through his stuff and packed spare clothes, a resume, and a picture of Him, Lucas, Henry N, Elizabeth, Kota, and Xavier together. While tears ran down his face dripping onto the glass pictures. He handed the nurse the knife.

"Who could do such a thing...."

"Messed up, people..." Xavier muttered. Lucas was still having trouble breathing, and Hailey was asleep in the chair beside Lucas's bed. While Henry hugged Aaron, and she had started to break down.

"I'm so sorry you had to go through all this, Aaron." A nurse walked in

"Hi, just going to check your throat" she felt his throat. Hailey jolted up and sat upon the chair. She was just watching the nurse feel down the side of Lucas's throat. While Aaron didn't seem phased, she was more confused. Lucas's neck had the outline of a hand. Not sure how long he had been choked out.

"He just kept hugging Aaron."

".... Is there by chance you came from the same place 4ish people came from?. Somebody had brought in a couple of people from some Lab in the forest." The nurse held up a black and grey x-ray. Lucas nodded slowly. Luckily his neck wasn't broken. While the nurse was in the room with Lucas. Elizabeth had slowly started to open her eyes. She smelt like she hadn't showered in weeks. Then again, it was true. God knows how long she had been without a shower. Elizabeth slowly opened her eyes and yawned while she brought her hand-ups up to the side of her face. Pain raced through her whole body. It was just about time for her to have some pain medication. Panic raced through her mind and body. She wasn't sure what her mind was feeling or what his whole body was feeling. The memories of the first encounter had caught her off guard. Just as the nurse had walked back in. As soon as she had walked into the room, she asked for some help in the room. She growled. Xavier gently put a hand on Elizabeth.

"Shhhhh, it's ok." Xavier yawned and softly ran his hand through the tangled mess of her white hair. She jolted here and there while Xavier reassured her that she was going to be ok. While Kota was still getting her operation, he picked up her teddy bear and sat down on the chair by Elizabeth's bed. He began to sew the bear back up. First, cut away the old stitches, then placing the new ones. He peacefully sat there humming a song. Back at the apartment, Steven had picked up the suitcase that he had packed. He looked down at the paper and money he left for them while wiping the tears from his face. He locked the door behind him, then walked down the hall, and instead of the elevator, he took the stairs. He had booked the last train of the day that was leading out of the city.

".... hello? Anyone there?" she ran into the door, looking embarrassed.

"hmm?" Steven looked up from his seat. Getting up and walking down the aisle and to the doors. He grabbed her arm and helped her up and to a chair that was not taken before he went and sat back down in his chair.
