Chapter five

Dani's point of view

Tonight was the MTV EMA awards. "You look so fucking good" Kiana said as I met her in the hallway. "Thanks babe" I laughed as we walked to Jadens room. "Damn Dani, you look so fucking hot" Jaden said, opening the door for Kiana and I. "Shut up you" I laughed. "You don't look too bad yourself Hossler" I added, sitting on the bed. "Rook is gonna hate himself for losing you once he sees you" Kiana said.

"He's with Tiffani now, I doubt he's even gonna notice me" I shrugged. Once Jaden was finally finished getting ready, we met everyone in the lobby and made our way to the limo to go to the award show. "I love your dress" Megan said as she handed me a glass of champagne. "Thank you" I smiled. "You look really good tonight, I'm obsessed with this look" Ashleigh said.

"Oh please, she looks like she pulled her outfit from the sale rack in target" Tiffani said, rolling her eyes. "Are you really that insecure that you constantly have to put me down?" I asked. "It's quite pathetic if I'm being honest and it's not really a flattering look" I said. "And besides, there's only so much rudeness that Rook will put up with before you get the chop" I added.

"Just remember one thing babe, I'm the one who goes to bed with Rook every night so know your place" Tiffani said. "Just remember one thing babe" I mimicked. "You're only temporary and whether Rook and I together or not, I'm gonna be around a lot longer than you are so know your place" I said. "Damn, shes a fiesty one" Jaden laughed, giving me a high five.

"Babe, are you just gonna let her speak to me like that?" Tiffani pouted, looking at Rook. "You did bring it on yourself" Ashleigh said. "Babe, all your friends are being mean to me, make them stop" Tiffani said. "Rook please tell your friends to stop treating me how I treat them" Kiana said, teasing Tiffani.

"Grow the fuck up bitch, if you can't handle what you dish out then maybe, I don't know, stop being a cunt?" She added as we arrived. We made our way through the paparazzi, stopping to talk to fans. "Dani, over here!" I heard someone say. "Erin!" I grinned, hugging her. "Any chance I can get a quick interview before you go inside?" She asked.

"You know I'll never say no to you" I laughed. "You're such a sweetheart" She laughed. "Hey, what's up you guys! I'm Erin Lim with E! News and joining me is none other than my favourite person ever, it's miss Dani Diaz. How've you been?" Erin said as the camera began rolling. "I've been good, just finished my album and I'm on tour with Machine Gun Kelly at the moment" I smiled.

"What's touring with Machine Gun Kelly like? I know you two are extremely close so I'd say it's fun" She asked. "It's so fun" I said. "It honestly feels like we're just on one big holiday" I added. "I've gotten asked so many times to ask you, your song good 4 u, what was the inspiration behind it? That song has been blowing up everywhere since it was released" She asked.

"It's a breakup song about a certain ex of mine" I laughed. "The night before we left for tour, he came home with his new girlfriend and at that stage we had only been broken up about two weeks or so and it just really upset me and my friend Jaden told me to put all my feelings into a song and good 4 u came along. It just sucked spending almost 4 years building a life with someone just to have them throw it all away and bring a new girl home not too long after" I said.

"Are you and your ex okay now? Is it still awkward? How did he react to the song?" She asked. "He didn't react the best to say the least" I laughed. "But yeah, I'm over him now" I lied. I wasn't over Rook and I don't think I'll ever get over him. Erin asked me a few more questions before ending the interview. "Thanks for that" She smiled, hugging me. "It's no problem" I said.

Once I was finished with the press, I made my way inside and met Kiana at the bar. "I can't believe you're nominated for five awards" Kiana said as we waited on our drinks. "I doubt I'll win even one of them" I laughed. "I just can't wait to perform" I added. "It's what you do best" Kiana said. "I'm so happy that you found your passion and made a career out of it" She added as we made our way to the table.

"I'm so happy that you're here to experience this all with me" I said. Having Kiana on tour with me, especially after the whole situation with Rook, meant the absolute world to me and I was more than grateful that Kells surprised me by flying her out.

Rook's point of view

"Dude you've been staring at Dani all night" Kells said as we made our way to the bar during the break. "If you think you made a mistake ending things, then be honest and tell her" He added. "Man you must be seeing things, I haven't once looked at Dani" I lied. "And besides, I've Tiff and she makes me happy" I added. "Whatever man, if that's what you wanna believe" He said.

"I need to talk to you while your little leach isn't around" Kiana said. "What's up?" I said. "Why'd you do it?" She asked. "I'll take that as my cue to leave" Kells said, grabbing his drink and making his way back to the table. "Why did I do what?" I asked. "You know what I'm talking to, don't play dumb" Kiana said. "I'm being serious Kiana, why did I do what?" I asked.

"Why did you break up with Dani?" She asked. "And don't even try and lie to me and give me some bullshit excuse about how you fell out of love with her because I seen the way you've been looking at her all night, I know that you're still just as in love with her as she is with you. So why did you do it?" She added.  "That's none of your business" I said.

"Tiffani makes me happy and I really like her so this conversation is done" I added. "But it is my business though, you're one of my closest friends Rook, Dani's my best friend. You're just hurting yourself by being with the spoiled trust fund barbie, I know she doesn't make you half as happy as Dani did" She said. "The shows about to start. I'll see you back at the table" I said, grabbing my drink and making my way back to the table.

"Is everything okay babe?" Tiffani asked as I sat down. "Yeah, fine" I smiled. "Did you get my drink?" She asked. "Sorry babe, I forgot. I'll get you one next time I go to the bar" I said as Dani began performing. "Oops, sorry babe" Tiffani said, knocking over my drink. "Guess you've to go to the bar to get a new drink now. I'll take the usual, thanks Rookie pie" She added, flashing me a smile.

"Are you fucking serious" I groaned. I made my way to the bathroom to dry my clothes off as best as I could before making my way to the bar to get a new drink. As I walked back to the table, Dani's performance was coming to an end. After her performance, she was presented with the MTV Best Artist Award. "Wow, this is such an honour to be presented with this award" She said.

"I'd like to thank all my fans firstly, without you guys I wouldn't be standing here tonight, you guys are the best and everything I do is for y'all" She added. "I'd like to thank my family and my amazing team, all my friends; Kells, Slim, Baze, Ashleigh, Megan, Kiana, Travis, Jaden, Dom, I just thank you to y'all especially for helping me grow into the person I am today. This award is just as much yours as it is mine, I love y'all so fucking much. EST for life" She said.

I wasn't expecting to hear my name  during her speech but it still hurt hearing her name everyone else and not mention me. "I'm so fucking proud of you!" Kells said, hugging Dani as she got back to the table. "Congratulations Dani, you deserve it" I smiled, going for a hug. "Thanks" She said, sitting back in her seat.

"Uh babe, what the fuck was that?" Tiffani said as I sat down. "I was being nice" I said. "You still love her, don't you?" She said. "Tiff stop, you're causing a scene" I sighed. "I just want one night where we all get along and there's no drama, that's why I was being nice" I added. "Whatever, after this I'm leaving and going to Mykonos with the girls" She said.

After the award show, we all made our way to an after party while Tiffani left for the airport. "Where's wicked bitch of the west off to?" Kiana asked as we all got into the limo. "Ki, that's mean" Dani laughed. "She's off to Mykonos with the girls" I shrugged. "So she's not gonna be on tour anymore?" Kiana asked. "Nah, she'll be gone for the next week but she'll be back after the holiday" I said.

"Somebody pinch me, my dreams are coming true" Kiana said, laughing. "Do any of you like Tiffani at all?" I asked. "Uh, I mean, she makes you happy so you know" Kells said. "If you're happy then that's all that matters. Our opinion on the person you're dating shouldn't matter if she makes you happy" Dani smiled. As happy as Tiffani made me, it was nothing compared to how happy Dani made me.
