NOBODY'S POV

That was close. He didn't want her to wake yet, so he simply put her back to sleep with his magic. Nightmare didn't want her to leave his arms just yet. Not while he was just getting comfortable.

Also, that way, she can get some rest without feeling ths pain from her injured ankle.

Speaking of which, he should go see how Dust is holding up in the dungeons. Eh. Later. When his queen is awake.

After a few more quiet moments, Nightmare heard a sudden commotion. Growling, he got up from the bed and tucked his queen in. Then leaving the room to see what the noise was about.

Usually it pissed Nightmare off, hearing such ruckus in his castle. However, the one and only reason it angered him so now was because his precious (Y/N) is asleep and recovering from her injury.

All this noise could wake her from her much needed rest. So in a silent rage, he went to go investigate the source of the noise.

What he discovered, surprised him.

There stood his team. They had a little human child surrounded and backed into a corner. It confused him on why there was a human child in his halls. Or what he thought was a human. With her appearance, he wasn't as sure as he'd like to be.

As he got closer, he could see the little crying girl sitting in the corner. What fascinated him was that she had cute, tiny appendages sharpened and pointed at his crew. Apprendages much like his. He couldn't help but be curious of her.

His team noticed his presence and backed out of his way. The little girl looked up at the sudden movement and his blue eye met with hers. That's when he noticed, her eyes were exactly like his.

They stared at each other with equal curiosity. Until he squared down in front of her.

"What is your name, kid?" Nightmare asked the child. She was quiet for a moment. Then spoke.

"Violet." She answered. Her voice hoarse due to the crying.

"Violet. What are you, Violet?" He asked. The little girl cocked her head to the side in confusion. She didn't understand his question.

That was, until the black glitches skeleton stepped forward. "ShE's (Y/n)'S dAuGhTeR." He said. Nightmare looked at his friend with curiosity. Then back Violet. He could see it now. She looked like (Y/N). This is the little girl Dust and Horror told him about. "AnD yOuRs." Error added. This made Nightmare freeze.

Violet also took notice of the blotchy skeleton's words. This was her father? She could see it. They had the same eyes. He had Apprendages too. She could feel.her heart flutter.

"You're... my daddy?" The little girl asked curiously. After a couple moments of sharing glances with her father, she made a move and came over to him, throwing her arms around him for some sort of comfort.

Nightmare flinches at this action, fighting the habitual urge to push her away. But a part of him allowed her to do this. One could guess that it was his parental instinct that had just awakened.

"Daddy..." Violet cried. "I want mommy." She hugged her father tighter. Nightmare couldn't help.but smile a bit, which confused his entire team. Even made them a little afraid. With a slight chuckle, Nightmare patted Violet's head.

"Enough of your crying. I'll take you to her. Alright?" He said.

Violet sniffles a bit, then she calmed down before nodding. Her appendages were gone and her stains disappeared. She held on tighter to her father.

With his daughter in his arms, Nightmare stood and started walking down the hall towards the room his queen was in.

"Tell me, Violet. How is it you were named that way?" Nightmare asked.

"Mommy named me 'Violet' because my eyes are normally a purple color. Mommy also said that when I was born, my eyes reminded Uncle Dream of how Daddy was before something bad happened. Uncle Dream says that I got my eyes from Daddy. But how could that be? You still have your eye." The Violet gasped. "You only have one eye!! Did you give me one of your eyes?!"

Nightmare chuckled. "No, Violet. That means you got your eye color from me. And as you mentioned, I wasn't always like this. My eyes used to be purple like yours." He said. Violet's face brightened at this. Now he could see what Violet meant about her eyes. When she was upset, her eyes were blue and there was black streaks down her cheeks like Killer. However, when she was happy, the stains were gone and her eyes were purple.

"Daddy?" Violet asked, snapping him out of his thoughts. Then Nightmare realized they were outside of his chambers.

"Here we are, Violet. Your mother is sleeping inside so we must be quiet." He told.Violet. "and be careful with her injured ankle." Violet nodded.

"Okay, Daddy. I'm gonna take a nap with mommy. Is that alright?" Violet asked.

"Yes. It'd be better for your mother to wake to a familiar face. Good night, my dear daughter." He said, closing the door after Violet crawled into bed.
