Nightmare was in the kitchen while I went to get the kids. They were in the lounge room playing games with Horror and Dust.
I cleared my throat to grab their attention. Violet smiled brightly. "Mommy! You're back! Wanna play with us?" She asked.
"Not right now baby. Actuallyb I came to get you and your brother." I say.
"Awww.. Is it nap time?" She asked.
"No. Not nap time. I need you to follow me to the kitchen. There's someone waiting for you." I say. Violet looked confused for a moment. Then she gasped. She jumped up and ran to me. Azuli was behind her.
I turned and walked towards the kitchen. I stopped them before we got to the door. I got down to their level. "Now. I should tell you before we go in. He doesn't look like he normally foes. His appearance has changed but he is still the same person." I say.
I stood and opened the door. Nightmare leaned against the counter while drinking coffee out of his cup. He looked over and set his mug down. He looked nervous.
Violet and Azuli stood with wide eyes. Not a moment later, Violet started to cry. Then she ran into Nightmare's arms. "DADDY!!"
Azuli looked a little shocked but ended up running to his father as well. Nightmare hugged them both tightly. He missed them and much and they missed him. I smiled.
NO ONES POV
I'm happy to be back. He thought as his love and his children was snuggled against him. It was night and both Violet and Azuli refuaed to sleep in their rooms. So they were together. Not that he minded. He needed this just as much as they did.
Eventhough he was gone for weeks, where he and Dream were, it only felt like mere moments. Still didn't matter. He missed his love and children all the same.
He was snapped out of his thoughts when he felt a shift in weight. He looked over to find his love looking at him. "Are you alright?" She asked. He nodded. "Need anything?"
"No." He answered. "I have everything I need right here." He said. He extended his free arm towards his love. Getting the idea, she snuggled back against him. She was happy to have him back, safe and sound.
