"I have been trying, I really have but I can't like you the way you want me to," she explains. "If this is our last day dating I need to tell you-" Luke says as Dahlia shakes her head. "Please don't," she says biting her lip.
"I love you. I have loved you since we were kids but I never said anything because I knew you wouldn't love me back but when you wanted to date to figure things out I thought, maybe just maybe you'll finally love me the way I love you but you don't and that fine but I just wanted you to know," he explains. "Luke. I don't know what to say" Dahlia breathes out trying to take his hand but he pulls away. "Holy shit," Alex says taking a sip of his glass of water that sat on her bedside table. "Do you think he'll ask me again?" Dahlia questions pacing across the room. "Better question. Do you love him?" Alex questions as Dahlia stops pacing.
"I could learn. Okay," Dahlia says pushing her messy hair back. "That's not something you learn," Alex says sitting on the edge of her bed. "I can. I have to," she says as he gets up from the bed. "Why? Why do you have to?" He asks as she moves to her knees causing him to follow. "Because no one will love me again," Dahlia says as he takes her hands. "What are you talking about?" Alex questions.
"No one will ever love me like that again because I keep secrets and I don't talk about my feelings. And I, I push people away. No one is gonna wanna be with someone like that," Dahlia says looking up at him. "Someone will. One day someone will love enough to accept all of you. I know because you are the best person I know," he explains pushing her hair behind her ear before pulling her into a hug. Dahlia closes her eyes as she lets out a sigh.
