Dahlia sits next to Julie as the rest of the band plays their instruments before Alex walks through the door. "Where've you been man? We need to start practicing," Luke speaks up.
"Yeah, for what?" Alex asks looking at the group before the door opens revealing Flynn. "Dance news! I don't have a date. But I don't care because I'm so psyched to add you guys perform," she says looking at Julie. "Oh, man! We're playing a dance?" Alex asks as Dahlia laughs.
"Yeah. We have to play for the little kids. It's how you get a following," Dahlia explains. "Yeah, get with the program, Alex," Julie says with a smile. "What? The band is here? Hey guys," Flynn says waving the opposite side of where the band was. "The other way, sweetie. And Dahlia is sitting next to me," Julie explains.
"Hey guys," Flynn says waving next at Dahlia and to where the guys were. "Well, now, that Alex has graced us with his presence, can we start working?" Luke asks looking at the group as Dahlia gets up and walks to Alex. "Yes! We're gonna rehearse. You wanna stick around?" Julie asks Flynn.
"Sure," she replies. "Hey, Julie. Remember those orbs in Dad's picture? I think they're ghosts. But don't worry this room is ghost-free," Carlos explains. "Wrong again, little dude," Reggie says with a smile. "Have no fear, if they come back, I will protect you, because I am the man of the house," he adds.
"Carlos. Your dad is calling you," a voice says before the big from the graveyard walks in as Dahlia's breath hitches in her throat. "Hey Daniel," Julie says smiling at the boy. "Wait. According to the internet, salt burns their souls out," Carlos says before throwing salt into Dahlia's direction but Alex jumps in front of him. "No! Oh, God. I'm... I'm fine," Alex says as Dahlia sighs.
"Okay, bud. Let's go, you guys coming?" Daniel asks as Flynn nods. "Yeah," she says before the three walk out of the barn. "We have a few Sunset Curve songs we want to show you," Luke says taking out the songbook. "Home is where my horse is! Reggie, stop putting your country music in our journal," Luke says getting up.
"That was a gift," Reggie says after a while when Dahlia didn't say anything. "Thanks, buddy," Luke says handing Julie the songbook. Dahlia sighs as Alex wraps his arms around her shoulders as she rests her head in the crook of his neck.
"We dog-eared the ones that we think you would slay, right D?" Luke asks as Dahlia nods. "What's jealous?" Julie asks looking up at Dahlia. "That one is not dog-eared," Luke speaks up. "Yeah, it's not that important. But the next dog-eared is wicked," Dahlia speaks up. "And it's got a killer beat," she says before moving away from Alex and picking up her guitar. She plays the beat before Reggie applauds her.
"So you wanna sample," Julie says looking at the band. "What do you mean 'sample'?"Luke asks confused. "Like sample music from other people's music. Me and my mom used to sing that song at the top of our lungs all the time. It's a classic Trevor Wilson song," Julie explains. "No, it's a classic our song," Like speaks up. "Pure Sunset Curve. Never even heard of Trevor Wilson," Reggie explains.
"Yeah, maybe you'd a mixing it up, you know, with another song," Alex adds. "I don't mix up songs. Trust me. Me and his daughter used to be best friends. I use to hang out at their place all the time. I know that song," Julie explains. "Here. I'll prove it," Julie says picking up her laptop before playing a song. "That's Bobby," Luke says hitting Dahlia's arm. "Jesus I can see, stop hitting me," Dahlia says pushing him away.
"Calm down children and that's definitely Bobby. He was our rhythm guitarist," Alex explains as Julie explains. "Trevor Wilson was in your band?" She asks looking at the group. "No, but Bobby, uh, whatever his last name was, was in our band," Dahlia says looking at Julie. "I can't get over how old he looks," Reggie says looking at the photo. "He looks like a substitute teacher," Alex adds.
"What were his other hits?" Luke questions. "Get Lost," Julie speaks up. "Yeah. We wrote that," Luke says gesturing towards him and Dahlia. "Long Weekend?" Julie questions. "Ooh, Dahlia wrote that one about Kayla," Reggie says as Dahlia rolls her eyes. "You promised you won't bring her up," she says as Reggie pouts. "I'm sorry," he says as Dahlia. "Fine. I forgive you. Cause you're cute unlike Bobby Trevor over here," Dahlia says referring to the picture.
"Wait. This is freaking me out. Trevor's songs are kind of big to me. He's the one who introduced me to rock," Julie says getting up. "Yeah. Dahlia and Luke introduced you to rock," Alex explains. "So, this whole time I thought you were connected to my mom. But instead, you're connected to Carrie's dad?" Julie asks as Dahlia sits on the floor next to Alex.
"Out of all people, it had to go be the one girl who had it out for me," Julie says as Dahlia crosses her legs. "All right, add it to our list of questions," Alex says placing Dahlia's hands on her lap and pushing them down so they pushed her skirt down.
"Back when Carrie and I were friends, the three of us used to talk about music all the time. He never mentioned you guys," Julie explains. "And that's unbelievable. Okay, he can take all the credit and he doesn't even mention us," Luke explains. "And he's rich. He has his own helicopter," Julie adds.
"He has... He has a... A helicopter?" Alex asks as he and Dahlia get up. "With his face on it," Julie explains. "And he parks it in front of that hotel?" Alex questions. "No. He parks it in front of his mansion," Julie says as Dahlia lets out a groan. "Mansion?" Reggie asks in a high-pitched voice. "Dude, we live in a fucking garage. No offense, it's a nice garage," Dahlia says as Julie nods.
"It's not about the money. It's about the music!" Luke exclaims. "It's a little bit about the money though," Reggie speaks up. "He could've shared it with our families," he adds. "What he did was steal our legacy," Luke explains. "Where does he live?" Dahlia speaks up. "Above the beach in Malibu," Julie responds. "Let's go teach him a lesson," Luke says before they disappear.
