His World

𝙲𝚑𝚊𝚙𝚝𝚎𝚛 𝙵𝚒𝚟𝚎.

"Everyone on their feet! The train is on its way! We only have one shot at this so we better do it right!" Steve yells.

I immediately jump out of the blankets with Bucky. I quickly put on my boots, and re place my weapons.

"You ready for this?" Bucky asks while strapping up his suit.

"Taking down Hydra? Of course I'm ready. Landing on the moving train? Now that I can do without."

He laughs, and starts staring at me curiously. "So you still wear it huh?"

"What? Oh yeah I do" I say pulling the necklace he gave me before he was deployed out from my suit. "Every day."

He smiles happily, rises to his feet, and joins Steve at the edge of the rock.

I join the two boys standing between them both. "Did you sleep at all Steve?" I ask noticing his dark eyes.

"How could I?" He asks giving me a look then bringing his eyes back to the snowy ground.

I knew exactly why he didn't sleep. And a big part of me hates myself for it. I don't know why.

I need to focus, this isn't my priority right now.

The plan is simple. Steve, Bucky and I are to board the train via a 'zip line'. Beyond that we follow Steve's directions and capture the doctor.

Easy right?

"We have about a ten second window to successfully land on the train, if we miss we're bugs on a windshield!" Steve yells over the train horn which is getting louder and louder.

I look over at Bucky. "Still afraid of heights?" I ask noticing his discomfort.

He looks at me and grins. "Still can't fight?"

I roll my eyes at his joke and turn to Walter.

"Don't die?" He says while going in for a hug.

"Do the same for me ok?" I respond hugging him back. When the hug comes to an end I rejoin the boys at the end of the rock.

Bucky looks at me with a small smile. I return the smile and grab ahold of my zip line handles attached to a thin wire that hangs over the large snowy canyon below. Not sketchy at all.

Following the horn once more I see the Hydra train quickly plowing though the snow covered tracks.

With a running start Steve takes off down the line.

I hold my breath and do the same. The drop below us is several hundred feet so I keep my eyes pointed at the train.

What a way to start a day.

Steve nears the end and lands on the top of one of the cars. I do the same landing behind him with Bucky not far behind me. The slippery metal build of the train makes it hard to stick the landing but I manage to do so anyway.

Steve rises to his feet and starts walking closer to the head of the train. I begin to do the same. The wind, and the slippery train make it terrifying and seemingly impossible to accomplish.

We stop when we come to a ladder that descends down the side of the train. Steve climbs down, slides open a large door and enters. I pause for a moment waiting for his signal. He waves his hand out the door, allowing Bucky and I to follow.
