"He's such a hottie," Rumi smirks, nudging my arm playfully. "Think you can hook me up?"

I look my friend up and down, snickering. "I don't you're his type, hon."

We watch as the couple strolls past us.

Kai holds himself pridefully as he strides, his boots clicking at the ground. He wears a stupid smirk on his face, holding the hand of my best friend.

Anyone could agree Dabi is the most handsome guy in school, other than myself of course. He's walking perfection in a Cannibal Corpse tshirt and leather jacket.

Dabi notices Rumi and I and waves shyly at me. I shot him a peace sign, watching the couple walk to their next class.
Part of my heart sinks at that image. If I was brave enough to finally come out, that would be me by Dabi's side.

Rumi sighs lowly, her large rabbit ears folded onto her head. "Why do all the hot ones have to be gay."

I roll my eyes, wrapping my arm around her shoulder as a tease. "I'm not gay, baby girl."

Rumi shoves me off playfully with a giggle. "Get over yourself, Kei. We all know you have a crush on the quarter back."

I cock my eyebrow at her. "Natsuo? What? Why would you even say-"

"There's my favorite running back," Natsuo says loudly, slapping my ass.

I startle, my wings jolting around me. "Geez, man. Give me a warning next time!"

Natsuo chuckles, his biceps flexing as he crosses his arms. "You still coming to practice after school, right?"

"Yeah, wouldn't miss it for the world," I smile, rubbing the back of my neck. I look to Rumi. "You have cheer tryouts today, don't you?"

Rumi sighs, nodding. "Since the other girl got to transferred to UA, I'm down a person on the pyramid."

"Hopefully you'll get someone good," I say.

"Yeah," Natsuo purrs. "Get someone hot to cheer for me."

Rumi rolls her eyes. "You're so cocky. It's disgusting."

"I put the cock in cocky," Natsuo smirks, wrapping his arm around my shoulder. "We all know I'm the best out there, beside my second in command."

I roll my eyes, slipping out from under him. "That was a bad joke, man. You need to work on your sense of humor."

The bell rings, making us all jump.

"Fuckin' hell," Natsuo gripes. "Ight, see you guys on the field." He waves before bolting to his class.

I grab my books from my locker, holding them over my chest. Rumi leans against the lockers, her eyes burning into me.

"Don't say it," I mumble, closing the metal door.

"Just saying, you could do a lot better than that piece of work," she comments sarcastically.

We head to class, sitting on separate sides of the room. Our teacher knows better than to sit us together, he learned that the hard way at the beginning of the year.

I look at Dabi behind me, seeing his forehead against the desk.

I pull out a piece of paper, scribbling on it. I pass the note back to Dabi, thumping his forehead playfully. He groans and I quickly turn around, twiddling my thumbs as I pretend to listen to the lecture.

[How's life and your little boy toy? I have football practice later. You should come. It's be forever since we hung out outside of class. I miss you bestie :) ]

I feel a sharp pain from my wing. I turn, noticing a feather between Dabi's fingers. He pushes the note to my chest, his hand lingering on me for longer than it should have. I take the note, turning back to the white board.

[Shitty and so is my boyfriend but I'm not gonna get into that. Like hell he'd let me see you dripping in sweat out on the field, he'd have a stroke. But I miss you too Kei, more than you realize ;( ]

I frown as I read the last part. Dabi and I have always been best friends, always doing everything together. But since high school began, we kinda got separated into different groups.
He made friends for the first time, the emo and stoner kids. Now a days since he got with Kai, he only spends time with him.
I ended flocking to the preps and jocks, meeting Rumi and Natsuo. Rumi is my only real friend beside Dabi. Natsuo is cool and all, but he's too full of himself. He is kinda cute though...but not as much as D-

"Keigo Takami," the teacher calls.

I snap back into reality, hearing snickers from the other students.

"Eyes up here," the teacher points to the white board before continuing his lesson.

I mock him, flipping him the bird after he turned away.

"Nice poker face," Dabi whispers into my ear, making me shudder.

I bite my lip, feeling my wings puff up a bit. I lean back in my seat to say something else when my world flips upside down.

I hear Rumi's annoying laugh from across the room. I feel my face turn red, all eyes on me as I lay in the floor.

Dabi jumps from his seat, helping me up. "You okay?"

"DABI AND KEIGO, DENTION," the teacher scolds.

I groan, rubbing my head. "He didn't do anything!"

"Want me to double it," the teacher warns.

"It's fine," Dabi whispers, resting his hand on my shoulder after we sit back down. "At least it'll be with you."

I blush, relaxing against his hand as it stays put on my shoulder.
