Nick lied in bed asleep as the small quick steps raced to his door. The doorknob jiggled and the door opened slowly to a little head peeking in.

"Nicky!" Catherine yelled into the room. Nick rolled and faced the wall ignoring Catherine. "Nicky!" She yelled again. She climbed up on his bed and began to jump. "Mom says you have to clean!"

Nick groaned. He slowly got up from bed and rubbed his face. He waved Catherine away and stood up. He grabbed the nearest pants and shirt that was on the floor and began mumbling to himself as he walked out of his room and down the hall. He walked down the stairs to the blender consistently turning on and off.

"Nick!" His mother yells, "Come get the broom and start sweeping."

"Does this really have to be done at eight in the morning, mom? It's just going to get dirty again anyways." He grabbed the broom and began sweeping as he muttered how much sweeping was a pain.

Abby looked into the mirror today. The Abby she saw last night in this mirror before Sarah showed up was no where to be found. There was color in her face and a sense of life. It was almost as if she were actually starting to be happy again. She did her final touches on her make up and gave a practice smile to the mirror. She wore a white long sleeve shirt that stretched down to her hips and the arms went passed her fingers. A little big but it was how Abby preferred her long sleeves.

"Alright, remember Abby, be polite and interactive. You have to make a good first impression," she said to herself into the mirror. She looked at the clock. It read 4:45.

'It's only five?" She sighed.

"Nick, hurry up! People will start showing up soon!" His mother nagged. Nick placed the fork on the place mat as he mimicked his mother's words with a goofy faced as she consistently continued to tell him to hurry up. Catherine came into the room and placed a set of flowers onto the table.

"Is that girl you told mom about coming tonight?" Catherine asked.

Nick nodded, "Yes, behave tonight." Catherine put her hands on her hips.

"I'm always behaved." Nick put his hands on his hips to mimic her. "Okay! I will!" She said slapping her sides. Nick shook his head and laughed. The doorbell rang.

"Nick, get the door!"

Abby grabbed the keys to the car and let her mom know she was going to Sarah's for dinner, even though she was going to Nick's. Her mom would have had some kind of fret about her going to a boy's house so she kept it to herself about Nick's. She walked down to the parking structure and looked for the car. She hit the unlock button on the car and the car gave a sound beep that echoed throughout the structure. She walked in the direction of it constantly checking her phone to see if she'll be late though even time she checked not a single minute passed. She reached the car and opened the door. As the door was opened it was immediately shut forcefully behind her. She turned around quickly to see Derek. Her heart sank and everything that she was before last night was her again.

"Well, don't we look nice? Where do you think you're going looking like that?" Derek asked smirking. Abby turned to run away but Derek grabbed her by the arm and then by the back of her head. Abby knew what was going to happen next.

Nick sat on the stairs facing the door as he bounced his knee impatiently. It was seven and there was no sign of Abby. He had sent texts and tried calling her number but she did not respond. A hour more passed and Nick remained sitting on the stairs. He felt as if she was ditching him or she just didn't want to come. He thought maybe he was a little too forward, inviting her to meet the entire family. He sighed and called Lem.
