"I'm literally begging, Lem" Nick pleaded on the phone.
"Nope, I ain't doing it. You can't make me." Lem replied stubbornly.
"I'm telling you, okay, this is the night. If I can just get her here, I can seal the deal."
"I'm not 3rd wheelin' no date. Who am I supposed to talk to? Catherine?"
"Lem, please! Catherine can be fun!"
"She put me in a dress and made me wear a crown! She even painted my nails and yeah, maybe I found out red is my color but that's not the point!" Lem barked back.
"One hour. Just one hour, okay? I'll do anything." Nick pleaded again.
"Anything?"
"Anything within my power."
"Deal."
Lem finally agreed, and Abby was able to come over. Nick and Abby had a romantic moment in her bed together. Though for some, a snuggle and a cuddle isn't very romantic however, it's about the progress sometimes, or that's the way Nick saw it. It was Abby's mother who caught them snuggling in bed and quickly put an end to that, strengthening her title as Queen of Cockblocking. Nick wanted more of these moments of emotions with Abby. She had been so difficult to get her to bring down her walls and now Nick finally made some progress. He knows tonight could be the night, but he really didn't want to mess it up.
He sat in his room, stomach in knots nearly over the nerves beginning to build up in his stomach.
"I got to hold her again..." He whispered quietly to himself. The smallest of interactions giving him all the warmth he needed in the world. People in life always end up underestimating how wonderful the little things in life are. Something as simple as holding a hand, hugging or even as simple as holding eye contact. When love sparks, it doesn't matter what color your eyes are, you love whatever color they have. It doesn't matter their hair color because that becomes your type. Their voice becomes an echo of tranquility, their scent a smell of comfort and their smile becomes the only thing we need to see to have a completed day. These were the things Nick never wanted to forget nor take for granted. It's what twists in his stomach and what makes his heartbeat harder. His senses being entangled with these small things.
When Nick lied back down, he could only think about how tomorrow will go. He knew he was going to owe Lem bad, but he had an idea he thinks will really change his mind about it. Nick let out a smile and exhaled a deep breath.
"Tomorrow is going to go exactly as planned. I know it."

Abby sat in her room on the floor in front of her bed.
-You are really pushing your luck, Abby. You're still mine.-
The text message said from the same strange number. She hasn't replied once to the number, but he knew she was reading each one more than once. He already threatened to find her alone if she blocked the number. Seeing what he's capable of so far, she was afraid to call his bluff on whether he would know she did or not.
-If you go to his house tonight, there will be a consequence. I promise you that.-
She read the next one as it came in. Daggers flew into her stomach and a small sense of panic hit her causing the smallest of light headedness.
"What could he do that he hasn't already?" she asked herself. It was the thing that frightened her. Would he hurt Nick? It seemed the last time Nick was the one hurting him from what she was told.
The phone went quiet finally. Derek knew how to play mind games with her. Abby couldn't run forever but she couldn't play his game either. Abby was so excited to finally start living life again and now it's all been taken away it feels. Suddenly just snatched out of her hands. A possibility of loving again, new friends, a chance to make new memories, all gone because of some lunatic that won't let his pride and ego being hurt go.
