I felt my achy head hit something soft and heard glass crack.
Something sharp fell on top of me before I blacked out.
*Ambulance arrived and takes her to the hospital*
My vision is a blur, but I can make out a white room and a "beep" noise to my right side.
As my vision came to, I could see my mom sitting in the brown, leather chair beside me.
I slowly pick my arm up and attempt to speak, but my sore throat wouldn't allow me.
My whole body ached in pain, even my toes, believe it or not.
"Honey, go to sleep." My moms voice echoed in my head, but she didn't have to tell me twice.
My eyes were droopy, it was quiet except for the little "beep" noise.
~
"She's going to need medication for her injuries."A doctor instructs to my mom.
I slowly life my heavy eyelids and see the female doctor with the white coat, stethoscope around her neck, blue rubber gloves on, and her board and my file from when I've came up here before for simple "injuries", like scrapped knees and regular stomach aches.
"How you feeling?" The doctor asks, breaking my thoughts.
"Fine." I say in a faint voice that I could barely hear. "How long have I been out?"
"Two days." Doctor says.
"What happened?"
"I was hoping you could tell me that." The doctor says, lifting an eyebrow and sitting on the end of the hospital bed I was in.
"All I remember is me driving and I lost feeling in my hands, I couldn't see, my stomach hurt, and I felt weak."
"Well, when we came to get you, you were unconscious and had broken glass on top of you. You ran into a fire hydrant and messed it up pretty bad." The doctor says.
"Can I go home?" I plead, ready to sprint out the door and go home.
"You have to stay here for one more day." The doctor tells me."And call me Mrs.Williams."
I watch the doctor walk out the room and I begin to tear up. I was ready to go home and get in my own bed, in my own room, with my control of what I do.
"You can go home, I'll be fine by myself." I tell my mom. She gives me a kiss on my forehead and leaves me.
I reach for my phone on the small desk beside me and turn it on.
Missed Call From Lizzy (x7)
Messages From Lizzy (x5) my phone read.
I call Lizzy back to see what she wants.
"Hello?" Lizzy says, almost like she's clueless on who she's speaking to.
"Hey, It's Maddie." I greet.
"Why haven't you been at school?"
"I'm in the hospital." I say casually, almost like it was normal.
"What? How?" Lizzy shouts, in shock.
"Just had a stupid wreak." I move the hair out of my face.
"With who? Tell me so then I can go mess their crap up." I could tell she was pretty mad and I began to laugh.
"With a fire hydrant." I giggle. "I passed out and ran into it. I just woke up from it a few minutes ago."
"You woke up like that." Lizzy says, referring to the song. "Flawless, ladies." I say with a giggle.
"I'll come see you tomorrow." Lizzy says.
"I won't be here tomorrow, I'll be home." I say.
"Okay," Lizzy says.
"Bye." We hang up and I set my phone back down.
~
I grab ahold to the railing on my bed and sit up slowly. The doctor's cold hands touch my bare back, sending shivers down my spine.
"I got it." I assure them.
I carefully stand up and begin to walk, showing the two doctors and my mom that I'm fine and we can go home.
"Are you in pain?" Mrs.Williams questions.
"No," To be honest, I wasn't lying. My body has done fully recovered.
My mom drives me home, after we make a stop at Walgreens to pick up my medicine that I have to take.
I walk into my house, enjoying the smell, the way it looks ,but I began to tear up.
For once in a long time, I expected my Dad to be there, waiting on me at the door with his arms wide and my dog would be there, barking at me which I would count as greeting me home.
I begin to sob quietly, hoping that my mom wouldn't see me and it worked.
I scurry to my room, only to see my window broken.
