"How could this happen, Chan? You can't leave me like this!"

"Felix, you're talking like I'm dead," Chan groaned and rolled his eyes at his cousin's dramatic antics.

"You fucking idiot!" Felix whined, slapping Chan's unhurt arm as the other one was in a sling. "How many times have I told you to be more careful? Just because you don't know someone doesn't mean they don't want to kill you!"

"Well I'm not dead," Chan argued. "And I'll be back on the track soon enough so that guy's victory won't last for long."

"I don't know about that," Felix said skeptically.

Felix was right to be doubtful.

Chan's body was covered in bruises due to his fall on the gravel and his motorcycle crushing him in the process.

His ankle was badly twisted, his arm was broken and placed in a medical sling, and the doctor said he had two cracked ribs. Not to mention the multiple cuts and bruises that littered Chan's pale face, making them all the more visible.

The doctor had told Chan that he would be stuck in the hospital for at least 6 weeks, but Chan just shrugged it off and said that he'd be out before then.

"You look like Chucky the doll," Felix snorted.

"Fuck off," Chan rolled his eyes and laid back onto the propped up pillow on his hospital bed.

The only perk of being hospitalized was that he was only a few doors down from Jeongin after he managed to persuade the doctor to move him closer.

When Jeongin found out that Chan was badly hurt, he immediately went into a frenzy and waited by Chan's bedside until he woke up.

Jeongin immediately threw himself on Chan, still careful not to touch his injuries, and gave him a sweet kiss, grateful that he was still alive.

Jeongin visited him every second he could and would try to entertain Chan while he was bedridden.

Chan thought it was incredibly cute.

Jeongin would bring books from the hospital library to read to him and crayons and paper to draw on.

It was rather odd for two adults to be doing such activities, but their resources were limited.

Plus, Chan had gotten pretty good at drawing with his left hand given that it was his non-dominant hand.

"Hi Channie!"

Speaking of Jeongin, he had appeared in the doorway of Chan's room with his radiant smile as he usually did.

"Hi baby," Chan smiled and motioned for him to go and give him a kiss.

"Ugh I don't want to be a third wheel even if you guys are my otp," Felix gagged to which Jeongin laughed after giving Chan a quick peck on the lips.

"Hi Lix hyung," Jeongin greeted him and dragged his rolling monitor with him over to hug Felix.

"What did you bring today?" Chan asked, noticing that Jeongin had something in the pocket of his usual navy pajama shirt.

Jeongin grinned in excitement and quickly sat down next to Chan's bedside.

Felix too peered with interest to see what Jeongin had brought.
