It was a sunny day once again, a perfect day to go out to the hospital courtyard, which had transferred back to its boring state since Chan's bold confession of love to Jeongin about a month ago.

Jeongin was sitting upright on one of the benches with peeling paint and had Chan's head in his lap.

His small nimble fingers twisted pale green stems and knotted them together, attempting to form a small flower crown out of small yellow flowers that were beginning to pop out of the ground in the early spring breeze.

Every now and then, Jeongin would take a small break from the pretty flowers and gently thread his fingers through Chan's blonde curls, which he loved so much.

The cool breeze washed over the two boys, soothing their muscles and faces with its refreshing nature.

"You're quiet today," Chan suddenly said, opening his eyes to look at Jeongin, whose tongue was out in concentration.

"I am?" Jeongin asked, not taking his eyes off the nearly finished crown.

"Is there something you're worried about?" Chan asked, knowing that Jeongin's still behavior was quite unusual.

Jeongin was silent for a bit, seeming to be contemplating whether he should tell Chan or not, but now Chan knew that there was in fact something worrying Jeongin.

"I don't want to worry you," Jeongin stated adamantly after giving it some thought.

"You're worrying me by just saying that," Chan replied, although his voice still remained calm. "Don't tell me you've started liking girls now."

"What? No!" Jeongin exclaimed immediately, causing Chan to chuckle lightly. "No, it just has to do something with this procedure the doctor wants to do."

"Well, what's the procedure?" Chan asked curiously, sitting up now.

"I'm not exactly sure," Jeongin admitted. "I kind of zoned out after he told me the thing I'm not sure I should tell you."

"Well I'm not going to force you to tell me," Chan said and gave Jeongin a small kiss on the cheek. "But if you want to talk about it, I'm here. You don't have to be alone in this."

"Thanks," Jeongin murmured softly, but continued to weave the flowers together anyway.

Chan internally sighed, but went back to resting his head on Jeongin's lap, letting the tips of the yellow petals tickle his temple.

His eyes were closed and he was nearly asleep, until Jeongin broke the silence.

"It's supposed to be a serious procedure this time."

Chan's eyes fluttered open, but not too quickly that it would startle Jeongin. He wanted him to feel comfortable with talking to him about these things.

"It's not like the small ones you've seen so far. This one could actually help for the long run."

Chan smiled, but he felt a "however" coming soon that would crush that happiness.

"Which is great, right? I could leave this boring hospital more often and spend more time with you!"

"That is great," Chan responded.

Jeongin's shoulders sank.

"But Dr. Kim said that it's a risky procedure."

There it is. Chan thought. This is where it starts to hurt.
