"Don't panic, don't panic!"
"Felix, I'm not panicking," Jeongin told the freaked out red-head, who was pacing around the operation room with his usual scrubs and surgical mask on.
Jeongin was currently laying on the operation table, watching the aussie flit back and forth, while they waited for the surgeon and cardiologist.
"I know!" Felix exclaimed. "I was talking to myself!"
"Why?" Jeongin chuckled at the frazzled aussie.
"This is my first time in the operation room!" Felix explained. "I've never been in here before!"
"I have," Jeongin shrugged. "It's not that big of a deal. You don't even have to do anything."
"Always the voice of reason, aren't you?" Felix deadpanned with his hands on hips, but he soon broke into a smile. "Are you feeling okay?"
"Yep," Jeongin answered, only half lying.
He had been through many operations in the past so this wasn't anything new, but he was still slightly worried.
You could never know if something was going to go wrong.
"Chan should be here in a bit, he's just finishing up a small race," Felix told him, quickly glancing at his phone.
"Okay," Jeongin said with a smile, but he felt his heart flutter.
He couldn't help but be excited to see Chan after the two days he stayed away from him.
However, his heart doing anything out of the normal was usually a pejorative sign so he tried to calm down his heart which was ready to break out of his chest and fly away.
"Have you seen Changbin recently?" Jeongin asked, trying to steer the conversation somewhere else so he could ignore his heart for once.
The doctors were coming into the room soon and he just wanted to get the whole thing over with.
"Oh yeah!" Felix exclaimed, clearly distracted by the new topic. "We went out yesterday and it was super fun! He even bought me ice cream. Can you believe that, Innie? How did he know how much I love ice cream? Ugh, he is my dream man."
Jeongin giggled as Felix continued to rant about how madly in love he was with Changbin.
However, it was cut short when the surgeon, Dr. Kim, walked through the large doors in his large white lab coat into the operation room with a trail of nurses following him.
He checked his clipboard before smiling at Jeongin, who gave him an uneasy smile in response.
"Hello Mr. Yang," Dr. Kim smiled at him, writing something down on the clipboard with a pen.
"Good to see you again. There's no need to be worried, today's operation will go smoothly if everything goes accordingly and it's an operation that I have performed many times without fail. We will have to put you on general anesthesia so you don't feel any pain. The procedure should take about four hours at the most. After the procedure, we will return you to your room and give you painkillers for a few days, but in three days you should be okay to go back to your regular medication. If you have any questions feel free to ask now and if not, we will begin the operation."
"I don't have any questions," Jeongin responded, a smile still gracing lips despite the circumstances.
"Okay," Dr. Kim nodded as he placed his clipboard down and motioned for the rest of the nurses to circle around the table. "We'll start with the anesthesia and if you feel yourself slipping out of consciousness, that's completely normal."
