chapter seventeen

good things must come to an end

Skyler pov:
I woke up really warm and squished, I started freaking out until I turned around to see Ethan holding me. I instantly smiled, then I realized it was Monday, ughhh I thought. I tried to get up but Ethan was holding me to tight, so I carefully tried to peel his arms off me. He instantly groaned and pulled me closer to him, tightening his grip.

~ "E today's Monday we have to get up." I said as I tried to pull away again. "Nooooooo" damn his morning voice though. He dug his head in the crook of my neck. As much as I wanted to stay like this I couldn't afford to be late, but he wouldn't let me go so I got an idea.

As he held me tightly, I moved my head back and started leaving wet kissing on his jaw moving down his neck. Once I got to his neck I started sucking the skin, and I could feel him tense up under me. Then I knew I found his sweet spot when he let out a shaky breath and his grip around me loosened. I took this chance to get up and run into the bathroom to start getting ready. I heard Ethan groan loudly frustrated, which made me slightly chuckle.
We both got ready for school are started our day.

After school Ethan drove us home. We were sitting on the couch,  cuddling and watching a movie, when I got a call. I clicked the green answer button and put it on speaker. "Hello Ms. banks, this is Thornwood Hospitable, we just wanted to inform you that you are in the clear to go home now." As the voice said that I could go home I looked at Ethan to see a sad expression on his face.
~"Uh oh-ok, um thank you" I said then hung up. I looked at Ethan before I sat up and walked to my room. I started packing up the small amount of clothes I had there, and put them in a bag.
Behind me, I heard the door open and soon there was arms wrapped around my waist and a head pressed into the crook of my neck. Ethan starting to give me soft kisses on my neck and I turned around to look at him. He was so much taller then me, I stood on my tippy toes and wrapped my hands around his neck pulling him closer and leaned in to a soft but passionate kiss. I leaned back and rested my forehead on his, with my eyes closed. My head was spinning a thousand miles per hour. What was I gonna do?! I had gotten so close to Ethan, he knew too much already, but I wouldn't let him find out more. I didn't want to hurt him and I couldn't deny it, I definitely had feelings for him, but I'll end up just dragging him down with me. What does he see in me? He deserves better.

"Promise me things won't change" Ethan said breaking my thoughts. I sighed
~"Ethan I like you a lot, but we can't be anything" I pulled away and opened my eyes. "Why?" he questioned, his voice cracking.
~"I'm not good for you." I said as I turned around and grabbed my bag. As I was walking out the door I got pulled back. "I know that isn't true skyler, I know you. you've changed me for the better. i'm happy now." I looked down not daring to meet his eyes
why do i always have to mess things up?

~"You don't know anything about me" And with that I walked out, out of his house, out of his life, without looking back.
