13 - Road To Busan

It was Saturday morning when Y/N shifted in her place as she yawned and stretched her arms. Feeling something against her leg, she opens her eyes only to realize she wasn't in her bed. Instead, she was sleeping with Areum on the couch in the living room.

Last night Y/N and her friends watched Frozen and before they knew it, both of the girls drifted to sleep. Jay and the others then excused themselves and said goodbye to her grandmother before they went home. 

Y/N yawned again as she tried waking up Areum. At the sudden action, Areum groaned and rolled down the couch, falling on her back. 

"Ah-" She rubbed her back and furrowed her eyebrows, ready to kill whoever woke her up.

Areum yawned and opened her eyes, only for her to see Y/N laughing her ass off. "Hey!" She whined. 

"Sorry- but you should have seen yourself," Y/N said and grabbed her stomach as she kept laughing. Areum glared at her but she found herself eventually laughing with her friend.

"Good morning, girls." Y/N's grandmother walked down the stairs and smiled at the two before they greeted her back. "Your friends went home just after you fell asleep." She said and both of the girls nodded. 

"I'm glad you have such nice friends." She added.

Y/N smiled to herself before standing up and taking the blanket back to her room whereas Areum walked to the bathroom. 

Entering her bedroom, Y/N noticed the piece the paper on her bed. All the memories from yesterday rushed through her mind as she picked it up, staring at it with a sad smile.

Two kids, one going after his mother and one after her parents.

She sighed and put the paper in her drawer before she exited the room and went to take a shower. After a while, both the girls finished their morning routine and went to the kitchen only for them to see the table full of delicious meals.

"This looks so good!" Areum said with shining eyes as she stared at the food in front of her.

"I know right, grandma is the best. Thanks, grandma." Y/N said and sat down before Areum did the same.

"You flatter me." Y/N's grandmother said and sat down too, ushering the girls to start eating. "Eat a lot."

Y/N and Areum ate as they savored every bit of food and smiled at each other. "It's the Weekend," Y/N started. "Anything you want to do?"

"My parents are on a business trip, so I don't want to stay home alone," Areum said and thought for a while before her eyes widened. "Hey, I have an idea. Do you want to go to the beach?" 

"The beach?" Y/N asked, confused.

"Yes, my parents have a house in Busan so we can go and stay there." She said and hoped that Y/N would agree. "What do you think?" 

Y/N looked at her grandmother, asking if she could go. "Sure, you can. As long as you girls are safe and sound." She said.

"Actually, I thought about inviting the boys to go with us," Areum said, taking Y/N by surprise. "I mean it would be so fun with them, I guess?"

"I don't-"

"I think it's a good idea." Y/N's grandmother said. "Staying with them would be better than you staying alone. I know they are good boys." She smiled and continued eating.

"Okay then! Can you tell Jay about it?" Areum asked and Y/N nodded slowly, taking glances at her grandmother who was smiling to herself. 

After they were done eating, Y/N walked to her room as Areum cleaned the table and helped Y/N's grandmother. She sat on her bed and grabbed her phone, staring at Jay's number for a while before taking a deep breath.

She pressed his name and put the phone next to her ear, feeling her heart beat faster. Everyone exchanged their numbers the night before when the movie was playing. 

And since it was their first call, Y/N felt nervous.

Just then, Jay's voice was heard on the other side of the line. "Hello?" What Y/N didn't know is that Jay was on his phone, staring at her number and debating on calling her or not when suddenly he received her call.

"H-hi." She said and cringed at the way she stuttered. "Sorry for calling you so suddenly-"

"Oh no, it's okay. I wanted to call you too..." He said and Y/N felt her cheeks heating up.

"Really," She said and smiled. "Uh- I wanted to tell you that Areum wants to go to the beach and we thought why not go together. I mean us and the boys." Y/N said, hoping he would agree. 

"The beach? Where, Busan?" He asked. 

"Yes, Areum's parents own a house there where we can stay for the night." She explained and he hummed. "Do you think you can come?" 

"I'm in," He said and Y/N quietly sighed in relief. "I'm pretty sure the boys don't have plans too, so I guess we're all coming." 

"Great! Let me know what they say, oh, and let's meet in one or two hours." She said and chuckled to herself.

"Alright, see you later." He smiled at her cuteness before hanging up and putting his phone on his chest as he closed his eyes. "It's gonna be fun." He muttered to himself before quickly grabbing his phone again to call the boys and let them know about the trip.

Y/N ran downstairs and went to Areum, smiling from one ear to the other. "They're coming!" She said and Areum widened her eyes.

"Really! Yes!" She said and started bouncing everywhere, making Y/N and her grandmother laugh.

"Alright girls, go and pack your stuff." Y/N's grandmother said and both of them nodded.

Y/N went to her room meanwhile Areum went to her home, to pack her things. After nearly an hour, Y/N was done with everything. 

She wore a bright blue dress that went to her knees with white sandals. Letting her hair down, she took a last glance at the mirror before walking downstairs with her bag. 

"You look so pretty." Her grandmother said the moment she saw her, making Y/N blush a little. 

"Thank you, grandma. And thank you for letting us go." Y/N said and hugged her.

"Of course." She said and just then the doorbell rang, making both of them pull away. "They must be here." 

Y/N ran to the door before opening it. Jay along with the others was standing in front of the door as they all smiled at her. She smiled and turned to Jay who was looking at her with love and admiration. 

"Hey." She shyly said.

"You look so beautiful." He said, making Y/N blush even more. "Everyone is here? What about Areum?" He asked as he looked at everyone.

A black car pulled in front of Y/N's house, before the car's door opened and Areum got out. 

"I'm here!" She said and ushered them to come. "Everyone ready? Put your stuff in the car and let's head to Busan!" She said loudly, too excited.

Everyone did as she said and placed their bags in before Y/N greeted her grandmother and looked at Jay who was staring at her the whole time. With a smile, she grabbed his hand and they walked to the car.

And just like that, they were on their way to Busan.

A/N: Hey guys, I hope you're doing great! I know it's been a while since I last updated and I'm sorry for that. I had finals this week and finally finished yesterday :))) I couldn't really write and study at the same time, although I started writing imagines on Instagram hihi (my Instagram is @bluejayyyn) So here I am again, and I'll try to update more. I feel like this book is too rushed and the plot is very bad but I don't care at this point, I'll just keep writing and then re-edit the whole book once I finish.
