Annabeth's POV
I walked back to my old house. Percy insisted I go and see how Malcolm is doing and how everyone else is.
'It's gonna be fine.' Percy squeezed my hand. 'Trust me.'
Of course, he was wrong.
'Annabeth?' Jennifer opened the door. 'What are you doing here?'
'Just wanted to see how everyone was doing - everyone except you.'Percy nudged me. We weren't officially dating, however, he was starting to care for me a lot more.
'Everyone and you.' I said with a small eyeroll. 'How-are-you?' I choked.
'Fine-thanks.' Jennifer croaked back. I really didn't want to be nice to this witch.
'Can I see my dad?'
'You mean Frederick?'
'No I mean my other dad who isn't Frederick.' I joked. 'What kind of question is that?'
'Go meet Frederick then.' she let me in and got back to being motherly and kind to her two children.I entered the study where my dad worked. He was typing something on his computer.
'Father.' I said.
'Annabeth?' his eyes were bloodshot and a tear fell from his eye.
'Yes, how are you?'
'I'm fine how are you?' he got up and wiped his eyes.
'Fine.' I muttered. 'OK I'll meet Malcolm and go.' I said.
'Go?' his chin trembled.
'Yes, go.' I said. 'I'm not coming back, Father.'
'Anna-'I had already shut the door. I walked to Malcolm's room.
'Hey, Hero.' I said.
'A-Annabeth?' he said. 'You're back?'
'No - I'm... visiting.'
'Why won't you stay?'
'Malc - we'll meet in school...' I tried explaining to him.
'How are you?'
'You asked me that today - I'm still good.' I said.
'I miss you.'
'I miss you too bro.'
We stayed staring at each other for a while.
'I guess I'll go.'
He didn't reply.I wanted to visit one last place. My room. When I entered I took in the musty and dusty air. I was probably forgotten about once I left. My bed had a thin coat of dust and my table had a thicker coat of it. My plants were all alive and well - Malcolm was taking care of them I suppose. There was one thin I wanted to see. There was ring. It was gold, pure gold - It was my mother's wedding ring. I didn't see it at all.
'OK. We can leave...'
Percy's POV
I wanted to ask Annabeth to be my girlfriend. But I didn't know how. Jason, Leo and Piper said that I should go and talk to her privately - not make it too catchy. Annabeth detested loud and cliché things.
'what do you wanna do, Wise Girl?' I asked her one day. 'Where can I take you out? Just for fun.'
'Hmm...' she thought. 'let's go to a quiet lake.' she pecked my lips. 'just a small little place where we can talk.'
'Should the others come?'
'No, just the two of us.' she smiled.Jackpot.
Maybe I could ask Annabeth if she wanted to date then.
'Evening?' she asked me.
I grinned. 'Sure.'--
I was getting ready to pick Annabeth up. Leo knew everything and so did the others. Only Annabeth didn't know.
When I picked her up, she was wearing some shorts and a t-shirt.
'I have a swimsuit in my bag - I'll change at the old changing room.'
The lake we were going to was never used now. It had some changing rooms for swimmers and people who wanted to take a dip in the water. That was years ago. The last time someone went there was two years ago.
When we reached, the scene was breathtaking.
'Why the hell did people stop coming here?' I laughed.
There were a bunch of Willow trees. The lake was large and the water was crystal clear and blue. The trees made some shade around the lake and in the middle the water glimmered. There were stone benches where people would have sat down once a few years ago. It was almost as beautiful as Annabeth.
'This is amazing.' Annabeth said in awe.
'Like you,' I teased.
'Shut up,'I took of my shirt.
'Gods, Percy!' Annabeth looked away.
'What?'
'Put some clothes on!'
'This shorts are my swimming shorts - you've seen me swim without a shirt at my last competition.'
'Just...fine.' Annabeth gave an unamused look. 'I'll go change.'
'Why don't you change right here.' I smirked. She raised her hand to hit me. 'Kidding!'Annabeth growled but went to change. After a while, I saw her emerge in a full sleeve swim-suit, it was electric blue. She ran wildly and jumped in the water. I jumped in after her.
For a while we simply swam in the chest deep water. Soon, I thought was time for some fun.
'S-snake!' I yelled as Annabeth was nearer.
Annabeth screamed.
'Sike!' I lifted her in my arms.
'Let me go you...' she cursed as she tried to break free of my grip.
'Never!' I laughed. 'To infinity and beyond!'Annabeth burst out laughing and then I let her go. When we got tired, we got changed into some comfortable clothes.
'Annabeth,'
'What?'
'You're amazing.'She then took out something from her pocket.
'Look.' she smiled
It was my love letter to her.
I smiled. 'And here is another thing I want to show you.'𝙳𝚎𝚊𝚛 𝙰𝚗𝚗𝚊𝚋𝚎𝚝𝚑,

She read the letter, with each sentence her smile widened. She looked at me and then lurched forward and kissed me.
'Yes.' she croaked through her tears.
