It's been 2 weeks since you last saw Sai.

Since then you moved in with Kyojuro and his little brother, Senjuro. Senjuro was a nice boy and well-educated for a 16-year-old. You had a lot of fun with him and Kyojuro after work. It helped ease the pain of your ongoing divorce.

Sai has been attempting to contact you through any means necessary. But you stood strong. Anything he needed to communicate to you would be through your lawyer.

"Kyojuro let's go?" You asked as you made coffee.

Since that day the two of you had been driving with each other to work. Telling your coworkers that you lived too close to each other to not do so. Every time someone brought up Sai, you would wave them off. Which definitely raised eyebrows but no one pried.

"Yeah, we might be a little late if we don't leave soon." He said as he put on a sweater.

You nodded but remembered today you had to go collect some of your belongings that you weren't able to take that day. Sai was notified about this and warned that if you were harassed he'd be in big legal trouble.

You locked the door to the house and joined Kyojuro, "I'm not sure if you'd be up to it today, but I have to go pick some stuff up from my apartment."

Kyojuro smiled, "Of course. It might be safer for you to have someone accompany you anyway."

You didn't reply, he knew you were thankful for it. But you never discussed the details of the divorce or your life with Sai. You saw it as disrespectful, especially since Kyojuro had feelings for you. Yes, it is painfully obvious. But you liked that he liked you; he was kind to you, even though he didn't owe you anything.

You both rushed into the department. You saw Shinobu and Mitsuri whispering to each other before you both came to greet them.

"Carpooling again? Y/n is your husband ok with this?" Shinobu teased, pulling you into a warm hug.

Pulling out of the hug, you grinned, "It's not his problem anymore."

It's about time you announced your separation. You were never truly married to Sai while you were here. Everything was a lie.

Shinobu immediately understood what you were implying.

She replied, "Back on the market? Good for you girl. We'll see how long it'll be before someone sweeps you off your feet. Won't we Kyojuro?" She looked towards him and winked.

Mitsuri giggled while Kyojuro looked away, trying to act as if he was never a part of the conversation in the first place.

After a long day of training, the day was finally coming to an end. You were a bit upset, as your training was also coming to a close. Just another week left. Kyojuro and you would spend less time with each other than you already did.

During the ride to your apartment, the car was dead silent. Kyojuro stole glances at you now and then, a gesture to ensure you were alright. He wasn't slick though, you were looking at him too.

"How are you feeling?" Kyojuro muttered.

You turned to look at him. "Honestly, really good."

And you genuinely felt good. It had been a long while since you felt this way—free. Sai wasn't a terrible husband, not in your eyes anyway. Yet, after marriage, you felt trapped. Suddenly, his demeanor became controlling, and he seemed dismissive of your dreams. Now, finally separated, you could make decisions without worrying about their impact on anyone else.

Both of you remained quiet until you reached your apartment door. You were aware Sai was inside, and whatever he was doing, you hoped it wouldn't ruin your high.
