When you woke up in the morning, a heavy pain throbbed in your head. Unfortunately, this time no one was by your side, which left you feeling a bit upset—especially since Kyojuro had brightened your morning last time.

You followed your regular routine, walking downstairs to find Kyojuro waiting for you.

He once again pretended to be busy with his phone before setting it down, "You ready?"

"Yep!" You smiled.

It turned out to be a good morning, the conversation was lively. You missed this. Your car conversations.

Kyojuro asked, "So, how did it go yesterday?"

You gave him a look, "Do you think it went well?"

He shrugged, "Not sure, that's why I asked."

"She tried to kiss me." You muttered.

"That's weird. But I'm not surprised." He sighed. You glanced at him and he nodded in return, his grip on the steering wheel noticeably tighter.

There was a palpable shift in the atmosphere, and suddenly, you found yourselves back at square one. The awkwardness had returned.

The elevator door opened. This was your first day without Kyojuro's assistance, and to be honest, you could use a break from him.

You and Kyojuro walked to your desks in silence, not exchanging a word since the car ride. Before you could sit down, Giyuu approached your desk.

Giyu waved, "Hey, Y/n. Ubuyashiki needs you and me to go run an errand on the 2nd floor. Something about the elevator's electricity affecting something."

You nodded in response to Giyuu. You didn't know what use you could be since you're not an electrician. Even though you didn't glance over at him, you sensed Kyojuro's jealousy reaching an all-time high.

He didn't like you being alone with Shinobu, so why would Giyuu be any different?

As you followed Giyuu to the elevator, Kyojuro tried to focus on his work, but he couldn't help noticing Shinobu in the corner of his eye.

Kyojuro harbored no hatred towards anyone, and that remained true. Sure, he was jealous—but he couldn't even stay upset with Shinobu because he understood they were both in a similar position. They both ended up liking the same person, and he believed that shouldn't be a reason to ruin their friendship.

He got up and walked over to her desk.

Shinobu looked up at him, "Is there something you need Kyojuro?" She asked while cocking her head.

The desk next to her was empty, so he took the opportunity to sit.

"Listen, it's very apparent we both have feelings for Y/n." He whispered.

Her face went red as she nodded in response.

"You and I were very good friends before she came. I really cherish our friendship and I don't want her to ruin it. So, whatever she decides to do, can I expect that we will remain friends?" Kyojuro smiled.

She smiled back, "Yes we will. I miss our conversations and I'm happy you feel the same too."

They ended their conversation shortly after, and Kyojuro walked back to his desk feeling somewhat better, knowing he had been able to mend a friendship.

As Kyojuro began to work, he realized he had forgotten his phone in the car. He promptly got up and walked to the elevator.

After finishing up on the 2nd floor with Giyuu, it turned out Ubuyashiki just needed some extra hands. Both of you entered the elevator. You had never spoken to Tomioka alone before; he was a shy man, and you respected that about him.

You were surprised when he spoke to you.

"Listen, I don't want this to come out odd. I know it might be hard for you to communicate with Shinobu and Kyojuro seeing as they're head-to-head with each other. If you need someone I'm here." He said while playing with his hands.

The first time you had an actual conversation with Giyuu, you noticed how sweet he was, which he usually kept hidden.

"Thank you." You said as you went up to hug him.

Suddenly, the elevator shook violently, and you nearly lost your balance. Luckily, Giyuu's body was there to catch you and break your fall. Positioned on top of him, you found yourselves looking into each other's eyes, both too shy to speak.

It was too late to get up, the elevator door opened.

There stood Kyojuro, just eager to get his phone.

His eyes widened at the sight of you on top of Giyuu, "Am I interrupting something?"

You both quickly got to your feet, with Kyojuro offering his help.

Giyuu explained, "No, it's nothing. The elevator shook and I broke her fall."

Kyojuro nodded, trying to understand. He walked back into the elevator, off to fetch his phone. Giyuu dashed to his desk, too embarrassed to say anything else.

You did the walk of shame to your desk, the day was off to a terrible start.
