___________Slumped on the cold bathroom floor, you struggled to catch your breath after a violent bout of nausea.
Despite feeling shattered, you were relieved to have stumbled back to the hideout, a sense of familiarity in a world that had just been turned upside down.
However, your respite was short-lived, as worry for Ray and Emma's safety now gnawed at your mind.
The strange encounter kept replaying in your mind - seeing yourself holding a baby, with your own face staring back. It was like a bad dream, but it felt real.
You couldn't shake the feeling that it meant something, like a sign or a warning. But what? You thought about Norman and the times you were together. He was always careful, so pregnancy couldn't be it.
Yet, the image of that child lingered.
You felt lost and scared, like your world was turned upside down. Your breath came in short gasps, your heart racing fast. You tried to make sense of it all, but your thoughts were a jumbled mess. The cold floor beneath you offered no comfort, and you felt alone.
Norman had left to the Royal Capital, leaving behind a trail of broken promises. He vowed to postpone its progression and stop his attempt to annihilate the demon race if you succeeded in forging a new promise.
This was his plan all along.
As you emerged from the bathroom, Anna stood outside with a cup of water in her hand, her eyes scanning your face for any hint of improvement.
"Hey, how are you feeling now?" she asked, her voice soft and gentle.
You took a deep breath, feeling a bit more stable, and accepted the cup of water she offered. The cool glass touched your lips, and you took small, grateful sips, feeling the liquid revive your parched throat. "Yeah...I'm better." you murmured, your voice barely above a whisper.
Anna's eyes never left yours, her expression a mix of empathy and curiosity. "Should you go to the infirmary?" she asked.
You savored another sip of water, gathering your thoughts before responding. "No, it's alright." you said, setting the cup down on a nearby table as you leaned back against it, trying to appear calmer than you felt.
Just then, a loud thud echoed from one of the rooms, making Anna gasp. "Could it be Emma or Ray?" she exclaimed, rushing to the door and flinging it open.
You peered over her shoulder, and your eyes landed on Ray, sitting on the floor with a bewildered expression. He whispered your names, his eyes darting between you and Anna, "Anna... Y/n..." Then, his voice rose to a shout, "Are you real?!"
You let out a deep sigh, remembering your own similar question just moments before. "I asked the same thing," you said, trying to sound reassuring. "Yes, we're real."
Ray sprang to his feet, his eyes wide with urgency. "What day is it?" he asked, his voice laced with a hint of desperation.
Anna's responses. "It's November 7th. You guys were only gone for three hours..."
Your eyes widened slightly, your mind struggling to comprehend what she said. Three hours? It felt like an eternity, like years had gone by.
Anna's voice was laced with concern as she took a step closer to Ray. "Ray, are you feeling unwell too?" she asked, "Y/n vomited as soon as she got here." she added, her tone gentle.
