"So, were you able to forge a new promise?" Ray asked, his voice tinged with anticipation.

Emma's face lit up, her eyes sparkling with triumph. "Yup" she exclaimed. "We forged it! We can escape to the human world without anyone being killed or chased."

The room erupted in cheers and applause, a collective sigh of relief washing over everyone. Finally, we can live in peace after fighting for so long to survive.

"What about the reward?" Ray asked, his voice low and even.

Emma's hummed with a nod. "Yeah, everything is okay with that too. I'll tell you about it later!"

Ray's eyes lingered on hers, searching for answers, before he shrugged and nodded. "... well whatever, then you better spill everything later." He paused, his gaze sweeping the room before refocusing on Emma. "More importantly, we want to leave as quickly as we can too."

Emma's brow furrowed in confusion, her eyes knitting together in concern.

Ray's expression turned grim, his voice dropping to a whisper. "Norman... he.. he doesn't just want to kill the Royalty and Nobles in this plan. He plans to kill every single demon in the Royal capital." The room fell silent.

"Ray, Y/n, let's go!" Emma exclaimed as she hurried down the stairs. But Ray's words halted her in her tracks, his tone firm and resolute. "Y/n's not going." he said, his eyes locked onto yours, as if daring you to defy him.

Your jaw clenching and fists tightening in frustration. "Ray, don't."  you warned, your voice low and even, trying to rein in your feelings.

Ray's expression hardened as he heard your words. "You're staying." he repeated, his voice firmly. "It's not up for discussion."

Emma glanced between you and Ray, sensing the tension between the two of you. Her eyes flickering with concern and confusion.

You clenched your fists tighter, trying to keep your voice even as you spoke. "And who are you to decide that?" you retorted, your frustration rising. "I'm not a child to be commanded around."

Ray's jaw set, his shoulders drawing back as he faced you. "I'm not commanding you, I'm making sure you're safe." he shot back, his tone leaving no room for argument.

Your anger flared, the feeling of being treated like a helpless damsel irritating you to no end. "I can take care of myself!" you snapped, your voice rising to match his.

Ray's eyes narrowed, his jaw clenching as he fought to keep his own temper in check. "You're pregnant." he snapped, his voice cold and flat.

The words hung in the air, silencing the room. The others watched the exchange silently, the tension heavy. Your hands clenched tighter into fists, your body tense with the pent up emotions swirling within you. The silence in the room was oppressive, every breath seeming too loud.

Emma's eyes were wide, surprised by what was just said. The others exchanged glances, their faces filled with a mix of shock.

Ray's gaze softened for a moment, the hardness in his eyes giving way slightly to concern. "You can't put yourself in danger. Not now." he said, his voice quieter but still firm.
