I look up from my knees slowly, showing my tear stained face to Dylan who now sits inches away from me on the front porch of his large, city home.

The night is filled with the thick summer heat and the strong, rich scent of the warm, tropical, summer air.The sky is getting darker by each passing second, revealling the shining stars that were hidden during the day. It was almost peaceful, well almost. There was a boy and girl making out by the door. I shouldn't even use the phrase 'making out' because it's not strong enough, they look like their eating each others throats.

"Ava?" Dylan says softly, snapping me out of my long trail of thoughs.

"What?" I snap, not even daring to look at Dylan because I know if I do, I'll forget how he hurt me.

Dylan scoots over closer to me, so our knees are touching, while our feet dangle over the edge of the front porch. He lifts up my chin and forces me to look in his milky, warm, brown eyes. I can now see the glossy and innocent look in them, like he wouldn't even hurt a fly but I know he could. His face is relaxed, showing no hints of emotion, making him impossible to read. He opens his mouth to speak, flashing his white teeth and I think to myself, how can a person be so beautiful on the outside but be such a jerk on the inside?

"I really don't get you but I am sorry." He says revealling his minor, raspy voice and not taking his eyes off mine for even a second.

"You don't get me? I don't get you! First you kiss me while you have a girlfriend and then you tell me to forget about it. Then when I get here tonight you are kissing Sophie as if nothing had happened. You kissed her as if you lips had never made contact with anyone else's!!" I can hear own my voice rasing so I try to calm down a bit, even thought the gross couple making out have disappeared, leaving us a lone.

"I know I'm a complete idiot and I am really sorry but at least I'm honest." Dylan says, mumbling the last part into the sleve on his shirt and turning his body to face away from mine.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I ask, sounding more hurt then frustrated.

"I don't think you're just angry at me because I kissed you while I was dating Sophie, I think you're mad for some other reason that I don't know of. Don't even try to deny it, Ava. I know you better then anybidy else and you're a terrible liar." Dylan says and turns his body back to face mine, as I remain silent.

I let out a loud sigh, burying my face in my hands, hiding my blushing cheeks from Dylan. A few moments later Dylan pulls my hands away from my face and grabs onto my hands and instantly a shiver goes down my spine from his warm, tingling touch. He keeps staring at me and I look down at our connected hands. I know this sounds kind of pathetic but our hands really do look like they were made for each others. HIs hands a larger than mine and mine just slip into his perfectly and I smile at the sight of it.

"Don't be afraid, Ava. Nothing you can possibly say will make me turn around and leave you here. Well unless you say you hate the 'mets' then I'll leave in a heatbeat." I small smile appears across my face. The mets is Dylan's all time favourite baseball team, that all he ever talks about, it's really quite cute actually. "Alright fine I'll tell you." I say reluctantly and Dylan smiles in amusement.
