(A/n sorry this story is kind of messy. I am trying to get back on track but I needed to add some things in to make the story roll and to make it more interesting for you and for myself.)

-----Ava's point of view-----
I place my hands on the steering wheel of my jeep and turn on the radio. I wear a massive smile on my face, only thinking of where Dylan could be taking me for our first 'official date', at least I think it's a date, I hope it's a date.

Theo sits beside me in the passengers seat with his headphones on, which are attached to his phone that I eventually gave back to him. He's so attached to that phone, typical teenage boy I guess. His elbow is resting on the side of the car, supporting his head as he looks out the car window, tapping his foot slightly to his music. I can barely see his face but I can see his left eye and it's filled with what looks to be sadness.

We arrive home and enter the house. Theo walks straight up the stairs, not saying a word of even stopping to get food. Within a few seconds of me standing at the door of my house, I get a text. I fumble around in my bag until I reach my phone and notice the text is from Dylan. I smile.
Dylan: Hey Styles, I'll pick you up at 4:30...Can't wait to see you :)
Me: I can't wait to see you too! I also can't wait to know where you are taking me.
Dylan: You'll soon know. Bye :D

I smile down at my phone. Is this really happening? Am I really going on a date with the boy who I've known since pre school? I'm going on a date with my best friend and I'm excited.

"Why are you so happy?" A familiar voice says and I look up from my phone to see my mum entering the kitchen.
"Mum! I've missed you!" I squeal, running over to her and giving her a big hug, just like I always did when she came back from a business trip.
"I've missed you too sweetie. Now why were you smiling so happily at your phone? Is it a boy?
"No." I say a little to quickly and I look down at my hands.
My mum doesn't say anything so I look back up to her and she's giving me that look as if to say, 'You're lying, I know it's a boy.' I sigh.
"Ok maybe it is a boy but I don't know what it means yet. He's taking me somewhere this evening."
My mum squeals and claps her hands, just like a child on Christmas morning.
"So is dad home?" I say while pouring a glass of orange juice.
"Um no he got caught up with work, he won't be back until late at night or early hours of the morning."
"Oh." Is all I manage to croak out. I never see my dad anymore. He's always working.
"How is Theo going?" My mum asks breaking the silence I created.
"Well he's Theo and he hates me."
"He doesn't hate you, honey. He just needs time to adjust to his new family, his new sister." My mum says and then kisses me head and walks out the door.
I take a sip of my orange juice and stare into space.

///1 hour later///

There was a loud knock at the door and I jump up from the couch and open the door. Dylan's standing there in a lose shirt and a pair of baggy jeans and a grey hoodie. He wears a small, goofy smile on his face and his eye are alive and full of happiness.
"Hi." He breathes, rocking back on his heels.
"Hey." I smile back, pushing a lose strand of hair behind my ear.
There's a small silence, but it's not an awkward silence, we're just looking at each other and smiling.

I am now in Dylan's car on the passenger side, while he drives, staring forward at the road.
"Okay Dylan. Where are you taking me?!" I say, breaking the silence.
He takes his eyes of the road and gives me one of his famous smirks.
"It's a surprise." He replies, turning his attention back onto the road in front of us.
"But-"
"Ava. Define the word 'surprise' for me."
"Having no idea where or what something is." I pout back.
"Awe you're so cute when you're mad." He teases back and I have to hide my face in my hands so he doesn't see me blushing.

We arrive at a pebbled beach, with the waves crashing lightly and the cloudy sky that lies above us. Dylan gets out of the car and I reach for my door but Dylan's already there, opening the door for me.
"Thanks." I giggle.
Once I'm out Dylan grabs my hand and leads me down onto the beach. We walk hand in hand onto the pebbled stones that have replaced the sand and head towards a red blanket a few meters in front of us. We almost get there but a stone shifts beneath my feet and I stumble forward into Dylan. My hands smash against his chest and he quickly places his hands on my waist.
"You're so clumsy, Ava." Dylan says as he places me back into a standing position.
"I know I get it from my dad, he's always stumbling and falling."
He laughs. His sweet, muffle laugh.

We sit down on the red blanket and I now see that Dylan has set up a picnic on the beach. I smile at him and reach over and hug him. This is the cutest thing anyone has ever done for me.
"You like it?" He asks, looking into my eyes.
"Like it? I love it. Thanks so much Dylan!"
He chuckles and opens the picnic basket and hands me a chocolate muffin, my favourite flavour. I grin at the muffin and start eating it, Dylan does the same.

"Hey O'Brien, can I ask you something?" I say once I finish my muffin and look into Dylan's dark, dreamy eyes.
"You can ask me anything, I'm an open book."
"Ok well I don't get it. For years you made fun of me, embarrassed me and pranked me and now you're on a date with me. What changed?"
Dylan looks at me again, leaning his body towards mine and smiles.
"Well when I stopped for a second to look at you, I saw how beautiful you really were inside and out and I started to fall for you, hard." He says as he caresses my cheek and stares at my parted lips.
"You think I'm beautiful? I ask shyly.
"No. I know you're beautiful." I smile at him, savouring every second.
Dylan comes closer to me and starts leaning in towards me until our lips are almost touching and then he moves in and closes the gaps between us. Our lips are moving in perfect sync and I find my hand drifting down his chest as he places his on my waist. He kisses me passionately and I can feel his soft, un chapped lips.
We eventually pull apart and rest our foreheads against one another's as we catch our uneven breaths.
"Even your kiss is beautiful." Dylan says in between breaths.
"You're suck a dork." I chuckle and kiss him again.

We spend the rest of the night laughing, kissing and talking about everything and anything. When it starts to get dark, Dylan drives me home.

We arrive at my house and Dylan turns off the car and turns to face his body towards mine.
"Ava will you be my girlfriend?" He asks with the cutest smile and I smirk at him.
"Only if you kiss me."
Dylan quickly smashes his lips into mine and I chuckle as he pulls away.
I get out of the car and just before I close the car door I smile at him and whisper. "Night boyfriend." His smile grows and he waits for me to get in and then drives away.

"So how did it go? I thought you and Dylan were just friends but that kiss says otherwise." My mum says as soon as I set a foot through the door.
"Mum were you spying on me?!"
"Maybe just a bit, now tell me everything."
I chuckle a bit and we sit down on the couch and I tell her everything, smiling the entire time.
