"No."
"What-" Tommy got caught off guard by his teacher's answer at him as he finishes explaining the situation he was in leaving out the main detail he made with Mr. Blade. "Why not?" He raises his voice at him.
Aizawa was currently restocking the shelves with books, scrolls, and potions. "Because you're too young for the tournament." He answers "Hand me the crate with the potions of flying will you now Tommy?" He then requested.
The boy sighs and went to get it. "I am so old enough to join." He whines as he grabs the box and swings it around a bit.
Aizawa didn't look over at the boy as he was double-checking his work nor did he answer him. So Tommy kept talking as he walks over to his teacher.
"I mean if an eight-year-old girl can join a tournament alone. Then why can't I go with actual people." He lifts the box to Aizawa as he proceeds to stock the shelves with the potions of flying.
"Because one, that child had two parents teaching her magic along with several others helping her with other weapons. And two, she did it in secret, under a fake name. Three, that story is probably not even true anyways." Aizawa explains as he picks up another bottle before looking at him. "By the way thanks."
"You could say yes instead." Tommy gave him a small smile.
"No. And that's final Tommy." His teacher rolled his eyes putting the potions with the rest of them.
"Oh come on!" The boy was starting to get frustrated.
"Enough. Tommy." Aizawa starts to walk away from him.
"I'm tired of the same stuff day in and day out. And you won't let me change a thing about it!" Tommy watches his teacher head to the counter. "Why won't you let me do this one thing for once!? That doesn't involve doing little tasks here and there!"
Aizawa slams his hand onto the counter startling Tommy. "I said-" he raises his voice at the boy.
It wasn't uncommon for his teacher to yell. He does it all the time when he was worried or upset about his actions. Like the time he almost set a forest into flames or messed up a potion here and there. Sometimes he hears him yelling at other people, mostly thieves who think they're all that.
But this was different. The boy notices the slit in his teacher's eyes narrows as his ears turned more pointy and the nails became long and sharp at the end.
"Enough!" His teacher yelled at him showing his teeth has sharpened to a point.
He then watches a purplish flame come shooting out the older one hand that slammed on the counter catching everything that was on the counter to burst into the flame.
If Tommy wasn't scared from his teacher's sudden change of apprentice, he was scared now by the sudden of flames. He didn't even know his teacher could do this sorta stuff. Yeah, he makes potions and teaches people magic. But he has never seen him using any of it.
Tommy starts to slowly back away and tries to keep calm. However, his face showed nothing but fear towards the situation he put himself in.
He watches as Aizawa's expression softens, his apprentice slowly going back to normal, and realizes the counter on fire as he slowly lowers the flames. Making it retreat to his hand, slowly taking it off the counter and shutting his hand to smother the flame out. Aizawa proceeds to collapse to his knees causing the boy to go over to him.
"Teach!" He yelled and drop the crate full of potions as he gets by Aizawa's side to see if he has gotten hurt.
Aizawa leans against the burnt counter for a moment, inhaling from his nose, and sighs out of it before speaking. "I am sorry for scaring you."
