Raydon and I are lying on the dry grass in the gardens, far away from anyone, the dark sky hiding us from view of the guards standing by the palace entrances.
Raydon's lying close to me, one arm around me so my head is against his chest. I'm side on slightly, my hands resting on his shirt while he looks down at me. He's smiling, showing off his signature charming grin.
"I had a lot of fun with you tonight." Raydon says quietly, his hand stroking my back lazily.
"I'm glad."
When Raydon suggested we do something, this wasn't what I expected, us lying down and looking at the stars. But I was pleasantly surprised.
"And as much as I love meeting new people, it wasn't my favourite part of the evening." He whispers.
"What was your favourite part?"
He lowers his voice, "Kissing you."
I inhale sharply, expecting it but not at the same time. His eyes dart around my face, taking in my expression.
"To be honest, I wouldn't object to a repeat performance." He says softly and leans down so his face is closer to mine.
First it's a brush of his lips against mine, not even a kiss, teasing and taunting me into wanting more. His breath fans my face, so close to mine, as he waits to see if I'm going to make a move.
I don't, but I don't pull away either, so he takes the chance to swoop in impatiently.
When Raydon kisses me I know it really shouldn't be happening. We shouldn't be out here so late.
And kissing him, it's like a mistake, but one that neither of us are going to stop. I can't find it in me to pull away, totally under the influence of his charm.
His breath fans over my skin, making it heat against the goosebumps from the cold of the night.
"You truly do taste sweet my cherry." Raydon says, peppering my lips with gentle kisses.
I could probably kiss him forever, well and truly lost in the trace of his good looks and ability to make me swoon.
"Someone could catch us out here you know. I'd be in quite a bit of trouble." I whisper, knowing it was way too late and dark to be allowed out in the gardens. If someone found us I would probably be locked inside to make sure I wasn't putting myself in danger.
If I wasn't allowed out of sight for half an hour with Liam, I certainly wouldn't be allowed out past midnight in the gardens with Raydon.
Although I think it would be more awkward to be caught mid make out session than to care about what rules I was breaking.
Raydon leans close, his lips to my ear, "Do you really think I care about breaking the rules?"
No. It really didn't seem like he had a care in the world about anything but me.
I giggled softly, blushing from the attention.
Two could play this game. I leaned in close to him again and put my lips to his ear, making sure to have my body brushing against his.
I lowered my voice, "I think you need to stop breaking rules or I will turn you in, Ray."
"Mm." He says as I use his nickname, "Well, I happen to know someone who is breaking the rules with me. What do you say to that cherry?"
"I say, how about you kiss me now and deal with the consequences later?"
He smirks, his voice low, "Yes ma'am."
