I woke up with a smile this morning. Stretching, I looked at my alarm clock, letting out a sigh of relief since it was only six thirty and I didn't over sleep. I felt Ej's arm on my waist and quietly slipped out of his grasp and placed a soft kiss on his head. I walked into the bathroom and slipped on my work uniform. I pulled my hair into a tight ponytail and put on a small amount of makeup, since I would be surfing later on today. I walked into the kitchen, still smiling at the thought.

It's still so surreal to me that Ricky and I are friends, or that I made friends so quickly. I mean who wouldn't want to be friends with him?

Just friends, yeah keep telling yourself that. I thought to myself.

I quickly made Ej some pancakes before hopping in my car and driving down to the cafe. As I drove down the road, I looked towards the ocean. The waves were moving calmly against the shore while the sun was rising over the ocean. I pulled up to the cafe and walked in to see Gina and Red sitting at the counter having some food along with Lily, Lynne, and a few other employees.

"Good morning, dear! Gina told me that you met my son?" Lynne asked me. Lily looked at me and furrowed her eyebrows and I mouthed 'I'll explain later'. "Yeah! He's actually my surf instructor! And we're also friends" I said happily as I grabbed some coffee. "Is that so? Wow, that's great! Ricky's very popular here, it's hard to ever get some time alone with that boy." Lynne said as she cleared her plate. "Oh really?" I asked as I saw Gina smirking at me from the corner of my eye. "Well he's got girls throwing themselves at him every second" the older woman said, laughing. For some reason, that made my blood boil but I quickly pushed those thoughts away. I couldn't even let myself entertain the idea of something going on between Ricky and I, and I wouldn't want to.

"Well, let's be honest, Lynne... Ricky's hot!" Lily said, shrugging her shoulders. "Trust me, I know what everyone thinks about him, and he can thank his genetics." Lynne said, flipping her hair which caused us all to laugh. "Well, as much fun this has been hearing girls swoon over my best friend, I think we should head out. I need to open up my shop soon and so do you guys! We'll see you later, Nini! Bye, Lily! Bye, Lynne!" Red said walking out with Gina. "Bye, Neens! I'll call you later!" She shouted as they left. "Alright girls, I'm going to open the store up so get ready to serve people!" Lynne said as Lily and I grabbed our things. "So you've met thee Ricky Bowen?" Lily squealed. "What's so great about Ricky?" I asked, as if I didn't already know the answer.

"Well number one, he's a total hottie! He's the best we've got here! And trust me, there are a LOT of guys here. Also, he's one of the best surfers here! He's won quite a few tournaments. It's kinda funny, though because for as hot as he is, he hasn't been in many relationships, although he could most certainly get any girl he wanted. I, for one, would love to be one of those girls" Lily said, dreamily. I sighed.

She's right, not that I was interested in him whatsoever! Nope.

"Oh, there's people! Let's go!" Lily said, bumping my hip. I just laughed and began to serve different hungry customers. I was refilling someones coffee before I heard the doorbell ring as someone walked in. "I'll be there in a second!" I yelled. I quickly dropped off the nice lady's coffee and asked if she needed anything else. Thank god she said no. I grabbed a menu, "How many- oh, hey Ricky!" I said looking up at the smiling, brown eyed surfer. He was wearing a baseball hat backwards, along with a yellow tank top and some shorts and flip flops. "Oh hey, Nini! You work for my mom? Well I'll have to come by here more often..." Ricky said, winking at me. I looked down covering my blush. "Well here-" I began, but then Lily came running over. "Oh my gosh, hey Ricky! Do you need a table? Nini your order's ready!" Lily said with a smile. I smiled back and walked away from Ricky. When I looked back, Ricky was still looking at me as Lily led him away. I smiled back at him and grabbed the plate of hashbrowns.
