"guys! are you ready? cause we have to be there at the school in 20 minutes!" you hear aunt sherry yell from the kitchen. "cOming aUntie" you yell as you gurgle down the mouth wash. you wipe your mouth down as you flop your backpack one side of your shoulder. "y/n, sweetheart, your mom went to work early since something came up. but she told me to go ahead and take you with us" you sigh.
"i understand." you look down, you never had time with you mother before she took the job. sometimes it irritated you since all you wanted was to just spend time with her but she would always be busy with something, leaving you to fend for yourself most of the time.
dre finally came out of the bathroom wearing baggy clothes along with a cap that covered half his face.
the entire walk to the school, he stayed silent and so did you. aunt sherry tried lightening up the mood but failed everytime when dre continued to mumble "mom, stop.."
i guess he didn't wanna talk to anyone after that fight. he must've wanted to impress meiyang so badly but missed his opportunity to. "okay, don't break any rules on the first day. that's considering the both of you. i don't want to handle a phone call from the school in the middle of work." "yes, mom, we both know already. we both can handle this" dre says.
"dre, don't be silly, its your first day. plus, we both have to meet the assist principle, mrs. pong-" "me and y/n can find her, you need to get to work. right?" he says, trying to get rid of his mom.
"are you trying to get rid of me?" she crosses her arms, "no, mom.." he lies. you fidget with your fingers as the tension grows.
"mrs. parker!" a voice says, thankfully breaking the silence. "ah, mrs. pong" they both shake hands, "we've been waiting" aunt sherry chuckles nervously, "i'm so sorry, we are late.. we just flew from detroit last night and- oh! this is dre and that's y/n, daughter of (l/n)." she bends over smiling at you and dre.
"ah, we only wear uniforms on uniform day" the principle says, you and dre look at each other than at the clothes you both were wearing. "oh, that's my fault, i forgot to tell them both. i didn't have the chance to read the school packages sent to me. but the problem will be fixed tomorrow."
the principle takes her index finger and caresses her chin. "well, i suppose i can let you two off the hook today. besides, it is your first day, perhaps i could tell you a few of the dress codes before you continue into the school."
"that'll be appreciated" aunt sherry chuckles.
