"and why should i listen to you?" he shifts his attention towards to girl who carried her violin case. "meiying?" you widen your eyes, you yank your wrist off of cheng's grip, running towards her. she takes your hand, pulling you to stand beside her.

"she was actually gonna be going with me. seems as if you were the problem with why she wasn't showing up." she speaks up, he chuckles loudly. "now, isn't that a bit cold to greet an old friend" she clenches her jaw, "leave her alone. y/n doesn't want your presence anywhere near her" "is that so?" he tilts his head, looking at you.

you look away, feeling his glance still on you. "perhaps that won't be her intentions anytime soon. you'll see" he says, caressing his lower lip. "just leave her alone." meiying says with a glare, soon pulling you with her. "meiying! wait! slow down!" you yell as she walks inside the building and into the bathroom.

"y/n! what were you thinking!?" she yells. "i wasn't-" "you know better than not to be with him or near him! i was concerned.." she pulls you into a hug. "y/n, i'm sorry.. i misunderstood everything" your eyes widen. as you hear her sniffing

"that day on the trip.." she pulls away from the hug. "i didn't know you were only trying to take care of my belongings. i only assumed you did it on purpose.. after hearing one of the girls say you did. but i was just so.. hurt that i believed everything they said about you. the lies, the manipulation.. i'm sorry y/n.."

you stood there in shock, "if only i was a better-" "meiying, are you hearing yourself right now? your talking nonsense about youself, you will and still be my friend. and there's no changing that." she wipes her tears, seeing her lips form a smile.

"wow, you're fighting in the tournament?" meiying says, "yeah.. how did you hear?" dre raises an eyebrow. "everybody knows." dre looks at you with the 'did you do it' look. "don't look at me, i didn't say a word to anyone." he sighs, "must've been cheng or his friends".

"i hope you have a good teacher" meiying says, dre covers his face with both of his palms, not wanting to admit it. "my teacher is.. uh.. the maintenance man." meiying looks at you to see if he was lying but you nod. "its fine, dre. wether you win or lose. you've still brought honor to your family for attending." he shrugs, "i guess so."

y/n left since her mom needed her back home while i stayed back with meiying. "can i ask you a question?" i ask her, in which she nods, waiting for my question to be asked. "well, i know you're practicing, and i think i'm practicing, i mean, i don't know what i'm doing. but we both are kind of practicing, you know and.." i stutter at my words. she giggles.

"will you be going to that shi-shi festival" i widen my eyes, "that was what i was.. gonna ask you" i look away, rubbing the back of my neck. "yeah, i mean, i think we will" i continue looking the other way with my hand on my neck. "go to the shaolin theater, at seven, at the shi-shi festival." she says quickly.

i flinch in confusion, "wait so.. shi-fi-shi fesitival?" she shakes her head, letting out a small chuckle. "meet me at the shaolin theater, at seven at the shi-shi festival" "oh!" i exclaim.

"okay so, shi-shi festival, meet you in shaolin theater at seven?" she nods, "sure, i'll see you then"

"mr. han?" the sound of him drilling echoed through the house. "mr. han? can i come in?" the drilling stops. "you may come in" he takes off the mask looking behind you, "where's y/n?" i put my skateboard down, "she won't be coming, she's with her mom at the moment" he nods, now looking at dre with a confused look.

"where's your jacket?" he now asks. "i thought i was warmin' up without it-" "go get it." mr. han says, continuing the drilling. "you want me to go all the way back just to go get it?" i scoff.

"yes, all the way back where you hid it." i groan in defeat as i walk back outside, taking off the objects on the jacket then walking back in his backyard where i continue hanging, putting it on and dropping it for continuous hours.

-

"oh hey, mom." i greet her who stood by the doorway, "did you get the tickets?" i ask. "yes, i got the tickets, and i got an extra one for mr. han." "mom!" i say in an annoyed tone. "but i didn't say you-" "dre, stop it. mr. han, would you like to go with us at the shi-shi festival?" he shakes his head, "no thank you, too many people there."

"yeah, mom. way too many people-" "yeah but i already bought the tickets." "i mean, you can always give it to y/n" she shifts her attention towards me. "she'll be going with her mom, so, that leaves us with one extra ticket and i prefer to give it to mr. han" "i don't go-" "mr. han, i'm not taking 'no' for an answer. you'll have fun, you need to get out of the house, okay?"

mr. han finally nods, "dre, here are your clothes. dre, come on hurry up and change.." she glances at my jacket which was on the floor. "dre.. pick up your jacket!" she grits her teeth, walking back inside.
